Breaking: On Twitter, Donald Trump Confirms Paul Ryan's Departure

One imagines Paul Ryan has been working on a farewell for weeks, or even months… and the President just blurts it out.

It’s remarkable that the guy will just Tweet this out:

As with his other tweeting today, one can learn a lot about the inside doings of the White House and the United States government by following the man’s Twitter account.

Republicans think that Ryan’s successor as the lead House Republican will have an excellent chance of becoming the next Speaker of the House. The jockeying to come out on top will include sharp elbows, as men like Whip Steve Scalise and Leader Kevin McCarthy seek to get into position.

After all, Newt Gingrich was the Whip when he edged out Bob Michel, leading to Michel’s not even running for re-election in 1994.
