Hey, House Republicans: You have ONE JOB. Don't botch it.

The pressure is mounting in DC as the threat of a “government shutdown” looms. In one corner, we have the President, who has announced in fundraising emails that he’d rather let food stamp recipients go without, than allow Planned Parenthood to be defunded.

In the other corner are the Republicans. The Senate’s worthless under Mitch McConnell, so we’ll focus on the House. Will they oppose the President, using their Constitutionally-granted powers, or will they cave?

You have one job, House Republicans. ONE JOB.

Democrats have never been shy about using the power of the purse. The Watergate babies voted to defund support for the Republic of Vietnam, leading to the country being overrun by Communists. That in turn created a massive humanitarian crisis.

In this case however, it is an ongoing humanitarian crisis that we are trying to prevent. We’ve learned from videos by the Center for Medical Progress that the entire Planned Parenthood abortion empire is corrupt, evil, and also breaking the law besides. I know, the abortion laws are so grotesquely permissive, yet they’re still breaking the law anyway.

The least we can do, literally the smallest possible thing we can do to oppose this brutality, would be to cease handing out our money to this organization. We could ban them, we could jail them, we could do many things. But the smallest thing possible is to let them be privately funded instead of funded by government.

If the House of Representatives under Republican control cannot do the smallest possible thing to stop mass butchering of babies, then they’ve completely failed. [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ], the failure-in-chief, is leaving. It’s on the rest of the House Republicans to achieve their one job.
