Some years ago, when I was working on a challenging project, a wise friend suggested that I "try easier." It didn't make a lot of sense at the time, but lo and behold, he was right.
Apparently, embattled California Gov. Gavin Newsom didn't get the memo. The harder Newsom tries, the more foolish he looks.
Desperate for attention — Newsom fancies himself as at least as smart as President Donald Trump. He continues to attack the commander-in-chief at every concocted opportunity. However, at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday, the ever-cocky governor went way low — even for him.
Speaking at a session moderated by Ben Smith, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Semafor, Newsom framed his latest attack against Trump as "putting a mirror up" to the president and his allies.
Hoo-boy, what a cartoon it was.
Before he began to talk seriously (as he saw it, in his TDS-riddled mind), Newsom cracked a crude joke about Trump "kneepads," which he said were for CEOs "selling out" to the Trump administration, while adding that the kneepads were available for purchase on a website he claimed to have created.
Speaking — while laughing — about the kneepads, he quipped:
I'm not handing them out, but I do have a few, if you'd like. By the way, I'm not kidding. They're the new Trump Signature Series kneepads. They are available online, but the last ones just sold out. This is a serious moment but we laugh. Anyway, these are available — and in bulk, too.
See what I meant at the top? The harder Newsom tries, the more of an idiot he makes out of himself.

"It's not what we should be doing. But you've got to point out the absurdity," Newsom said.
Even worse?
Newsom went on to admit that his exchanges with Trump and his administration are "deeply unbecoming." So many questions for Gavin, so few intelligent, non-self-aggrandizing answers.

Then came total delusion from Newsom, who covets the thought of himself as the 2028 Democratic Party presidential nominee, though he tries to hide his enthusiasm for the job:
We're deeply in their head. I think [with] the affordability agenda [it] appears to be I'm living rent-free in the Trump administration's head...
[Y]ou punch back. You fight fire with fire. You display conviction and strength. It's a different relationship. And so, my relationship to this moment is reflected in that. I'm not naive. These guys are going to try to take me down, not just my state.
The notion that Newsom is in Trump's head is laughable. The reality is, Trump lives in Newsom's head, 24x7 — as the big bad boogeyman of his worst nightmares.
White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told Fox News in response to Newsom's nonsense:
No one in Davos knows who third-rate governor Newscum is or why he is frolicking around Switzerland instead of fixing the many problems he created in California.
Bingo — and then some.
The Bottom Line
Gavin Newsom fancies himself as a modern-day Don Quixote, bravely jousting at Trump-shaped windmills, but the only thing he’s conquered is California’s once-proud reputation.
Newsom's swaggering self-love might play well in his bedroom mirror, but it’s hard to deny the wreckage he’s left behind in what used to be the Golden State.
Note: The mainstream media and TDS-riddled Democrats like Gavin Newsom aren't interested in the facts; they're only interested in attacking the president. Help by supporting our truth-seeking journalism.
