As the Democrat Party, bristling with hatred for President Donald Trump, "Make America Great Again," and "America First," desperately tries to connect with the American people — with the 2026 midterm elections, a mere 17 months away, in mind — the party's latest stunt is not only laugh-out-loud hilarious; it also proves that these people have no idea what our nation's flag represents. 

Most of us have the Pledge of Allegiance memorized, having recited it in grade school. 

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America; and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Perhaps not as many of us understand "for which it stands," given the divisiveness present in today's America. Some are more devoted to other flags, such as the Pride flag, the Palestinian flag, the Mexican flag — and other flags of resistance.

Anyway, as reported by Politico, nonetheless, the Democrat Party's latest act of desperation to win back voters is "a fresh embrace" of the American Flag — our nation's oldest symbol:

Two days ahead of Flag Day, when President Donald Trump’s military parade will run through the streets of Washington, Democratic Reps. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.) and Chris Deluzio (D-Pa.) fanned out Thursday afternoon to give a gift to their colleagues to unite them. 

It was a 4-inch-by-6-inch American flag, which they passed out at almost the exact moment, unbeknownst to them, that Sen. Alex Padilla was getting forcibly removed and handcuffed at a Homeland Security press conference in Los Angeles — an act House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would later call “unpatriotic.”

The flags, made in Deluzio’s Pennsylvania, came with a message in an accompanying dear colleague letter written by Ryan, a West Point grad who served two tours in Iraq, and Deluzio, a U.S. Navy officer who was also deployed there. They have joined forces to become co-chairs of the first-ever, 18-member Democratic Veterans Caucus, formed just three days ago.

We'll ignore Politico's reference to Padilla and the absurd comment from Jeffries.

The letter that accompanied the flags read:

Patriotism does not belong to one party. The flag, and the values it stands for, belong to every single American.

Are you sure about that, my Democrat friends? 

Every single American, including American parents who don't want their young children indoctrinated at school by left-wing teachers who feed them insane nonsense about so-called "transgenderism"? 

And what about every single patriotic American who opposes 12 million illegal aliens in our country? And I'm only talking about those who crossed our borders during the disastrous four years of the Biden administration after the former president all but stood at the border and waved them in.

And what about every single American political writer who's been censored on social media, or by Google? 

The list goes on.

Ryan told Politico:

The timing is very apt, because we’ve now had a senator handcuffed; we’ve had one of my House colleagues charged and now indicted; we’ve had not just the National Guard federalized, but active duty troops deployed against U.S. citizens, and increasingly, Trump, who really is the Republican Party now, their definition of patriotism, is, do you support Trump and MAGA?

Here's your hypocritical problem, Mr. Ryan:

You can ridicule MAGA and all it stands for, but last time I checked, you and your party railed against moral Americans who oppose DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion). Moreover, your definition of "inclusion" roughly means "as long as you don't object to our demands and initiatives." Like, you know, opposing male athletes pretending to be females dominating females in female sporting events.

Democrats view the military parade in Washington, which will take place on Saturday — the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and coincidentally, Trump's 79th birthday — as a militaristic statement from Trump that he prioritizes himself over the nation, which is insane. But what can we expect from those so afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome?

Maryland Democrat Gov. Wes Moore said in a recent interview:

Patriotism is not something the Democratic Party should concede, because patriotism is not something the Republican Party created.

Uh-huh, governor. Do you see these guys — no doubt radical leftists — as "patriotic"? Are they embracing the American flag? 

They're a dime a dozen at every left-wing riot, Gov. Moore.

The Bottom Line

It's truly laughable that Democrats actually believe, after years of desecrating our flag, blaming America for virtually everything that goes wrong in the world, and proudly carrying around flags of protest, that they can turn on a dime — and pretend to embrace the American flag.

While the Democrat Party is all about symbolism over substance, this is absurd as it gets.
