In this episode of "What, You Can't Take a Joke?"...

As RedState reported on Sunday, leftists across the fruited plain melted down in histrionic fits of indignation after an AI-generated image of President Donald Trump as pope found its way onto the president's official Truth Social page after it had been floating around on social media for a couple of days.

The AI image depicts Trump wearing a traditional Catholic mitre, cross, and white cassock, as the College of Cardinals gets ready to elect a new Holy Father following the death of Pope Francis in April.

The image, which was also shared by the official White House X account, sparked some outrage in the Catholic community, with priests commenting about how the post is disrespectful.

“I hope he didn’t have anything to do with that,” Timothy Cardinal Dolan — the Archbishop of New York and a Trump friend — told reporters in Rome on Sunday.

Donald Trump Sets Internet on Fire As He Posts AI Picture of Himself As Pope

Trump was asked by Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich on Monday about the backlash he has received after posting the image on Truth Social:

Some Catholics were not so happy about the image of you looking like the pope—

Trump calmly — and humorously —interjected:

Oh, I see. You mean they can't take a joke. You don't mean the Catholics, you mean the Fake News Media... I had nothing to do with it ... I just saw it last evening. Actually, my wife thought it was cute. She said, 'Isn't that nice?' Actually, I would not be able to be married, though. That would be a lot. To the best of my knowledge popes aren't getting married.

Trump said he had nothing to do with the image being created or shared.

So here's the thing:

Even if Trump did personally share the image on his Truth Social page, so what?

First, Trump is a master-troller, which absolutely infuriates the left. Second, and more importantly, former President Joe Biden not only said he believed Trump is a "fascist" on multiple occasions, he also called Trump Supporters "garbage."

Yet, nary a whimper from the hypocritical left, much less condemnation of Biden.

"They can't take a joke," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, claiming those who were outraged were the “fake news media” — not Catholics. “The Catholics loved it,” he said.

While Catholics didn't necessarily "love it," as evidenced earlier in the article, again, so what?

Don't misunderstand: My intent is not to disparage Catholics who didn't "love it," but merely to play the whatatboutism card and suggest that Jewish-Americans weren't exactly thrilled by antisemitic protests on Harvard campuses and elsewhere around the country by activists decked out in pro-Hamas gear.

And how did the Democrats and their sock-puppet media respond to those protests? Either with crickets — or more likely, with pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel narratives.

So, with all due respect to whomever, calm down. And for your own sake, learn how to take a joke.

Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
