Cost of Producing Goods Soars Into the Stratosphere — Three Times Higher Than Expected!

Joe Biden and his administration, with a strong assist from the quasi-official Democrat State Media, continue to insist (lie) that the economy is in marvelous shape, with prices stabilized or even declining.

Just one problem.

As I reported on Tuesday in an article titled "Say It Ain't So, Joe! January Inflation Rises More Than Expected As Soaring Prices Continue," the Labor Department's latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, a broad measure of the price of everyday goods, rose 0.3 percent — higher than expected — in January from the previous month, as retail prices climbed 3.1 percent year-over-year from 2023.

Still, Biden and the Democrats insisted that all was fine, absurdly claiming that the real problem was "shrinkflation" — greedy corporations making packages smaller but continuing to charge the same prices.

As I wrote in the Tuesday article, "More inflation data will be released on Friday in the January Producer Price Index (PPI), which is often a predictor of future inflation because it shows prices that are early in the pipeline and often passed on to consumers."

Welp, Friday is here, and so is more bad news Joe Biden — and mostly, the American people.

The Labor Department said on Friday that the PPI — again, a measure of inflation at the wholesale level before it reaches consumers — jumped 0.3% in January from the previous month, three times higher than the 0.1 percent increase Wall Street analysts had expected. The surge in January pushed the index up at the fastest pace since August of 2023. Compared with a year ago, the producer price index is up 0.9 percent.

Yet Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the Democrat Party, and the liberal media sock puppets continue to tell us: "No, really! The economy is in awesome shape! You're just too stupid to see it!"

Hell, even veteran Democrat strategist James Carville recently admonished Biden and the Democrats not to "tell people how great the economy is." Carville explained:

People live in an economy and they feel it. And we know from the Clinton years and we know from the Obama years that it takes a lot — you have to go pretty deep into a recovery where people are feeling it.

Now, Carville employed a bit of doublespeak, for sure, but clearly, Joe Biden and Democrats running around the country telling (lying to) the American people how great the economy isn't working, and now, within a span of less than a week, both the Consumer Price Index and the Producer Price Index proved that the crock of crap that Joe and the Dems are trying to sell us is just that — a crock of crap.

The Bottom Line

Let's just say it out loud, shall we? Joe Biden is a dead man walking. He's totally unaware of that reality, of course, but I suspect that even deep down, Jill Biden knows it— even as she likely remains in a state of denial.

Biden's intentionally created illegal alien border invasion, in tandem with stubborn inflation and soaring consumer prices serve as proof enough that it's way past time to put the 46th president of the United States out to pasture.
