Ouch: Biden Challenger Phillips Takes a Few Well-Aimed Jabs at Kamala Harris and Scores — Then Pays

While publicly criticizing members of one's own party is generally not a welcome occurrence in the political world, some transgressions are deemed worse than others, of course. In today's Democrat Party, at or near the top of those "worse than others" no-noes sits Vice President Kamala Harris.

Apparently, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) didn't get the memo.

Phillips, a millionaire businessman serving his third term in the House, believes voters have no faith in Harris. In a recent interview with The Atlantic, the Minnesota congressman, who in October launched a longshot primary challenge against Joe Biden, suggested that Harris's deficiencies are across the board.

I hear from others who know her a lot better than I do that many think she’s not well-positioned. She is not well-prepared and doesn’t have the right disposition and the right competencies to execute that office. It’s pretty clear that she’s not somebody people have faith in.

Phillips also noted that "Harris’s approval numbers are even worse than Biden’s."

Now of course every word Phillips said is demonstrably true. And then some. Doesn't matter. Why not? Because when one lives on the Democrat plantation, one must not deviate from the script.

Needless to say, Phillips has taken major heat from Harris apologists, and others on the left.

CNN commentator and Democratic strategist Karen Finney predictably made a fool of herself:

Dean Phillips should apologize — hiding behind the well worn [sic] “people are saying” and leaning in to gossip over your own experience for the sake of scoring cheap political points is not leadership.

Nonsense. Untold numbers of surveys — from the beginning — have found the same concerns about Harris that Phillip shared with The Atlantic.

Robert Garcia, former mayor of Long Beach, Calif., who basically threatened Phillips, was laughable.

Apparently Dean Phillips is floundering so hard that he’s now resorting to attacking Vice-President Harris. He better keep the VP’s name out of his mouth and apologize. No one will support him so he’s going to torch his entire reputation on the way out. Sad to see.

"He better keep the VP's name out of his mouth and apologize." Why? Cute threat, but this is Democrat groupspeak at its worst. Tell the truth, and we'll do our damndest to destroy your reputation.

Sure enough — and unfortunately — Phillips caved into the condemnation and attempted to walk back his accurate assessment of Kamala Harris and her woeful shortcomings.

That's what people have told me. ... I did not articulate that distinctly. That was asked of me. She's been kind. She's been thoughtful. … I don't recall saying those words. I recall those words being shared with me and saying that's what people have been saying.

That's a good boy, Dean. We knew you'd see the error in your ways when we showed you where you screwed up. Now, eat your cookies and drink your milk before beddy-bye time. Get a good night's sleep, boy. In the morning we'll talk about your challenge to President Biden, the best president in the history of America!

Nighty night.
