Poll: Biden’s 'Age and Mental Capacity Pose a National Security Threat' — Was There Even a Doubt?

Was there even a doubt?

That 80-year-old Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is mentally incapable of handling the job of the presidency of the United States, I mean. From an ever-more-aggressive China to a desperate dictator in Russia to the never-ending (intentionally created) border crisis, Joe Biden is a clear and present danger to America.

According to the results of an I&I/TIPP Poll released on Thursday, a large majority of Americans, including Democrats, believe Biden, who will be 82 on Inauguration Day 2025, is not up to the task of rationally confronting the growing list of dangers — both international and domestic — facing this country.

The salient question was straight-forward and bottom-line:

How concerned are you that Biden’s age and mental capacity pose a national security threat?

Again, was there even a doubt?

After rounding the data, 70% of all respondents said they were either “very concerned” (44%) or “somewhat concerned” (25%). Just 15% answered “not very concerned,” while 13% said “not at all concerned,” for a total of 28%.

Far be it from me to give advice to the Democrat Party, but #protip: Joe Biden should be the last Democrat on the planet to be your 2024 standard-bearer. I mean, I hope he is, but just sayin'.

Think about it.

China continues its massive military buildup and continues to ramp up its threats to attack Taiwan. Russia continues its brutal war against Ukraine and recently put its most advanced intercontinental ballistic missile system on "combat duty." A smuggler with ISIS ties recently helped illegal aliens from Uzbekistan cross the southern border.

The troublesome list goes on.

And Biden? He continues to smirk at reporters, throw bizarre temper tantrums, and... go on yet another "vacation."

While Republicans predictably expressed the greatest concern about Biden's declining mental acuity (92 percent), and 67 percent of independents were concerned, even a majority of Democrats (54 percent) were concerned that Biden represents a threat to national security. That is profound.

Clearly, there's not a rational, honest, informed adult in America who doesn't have at least some concern about Joe Biden as president of the United States. That said — and this is critical — the left's concern should not be confused with whether or Democrats will vote for the guy if he's the Democrat nominee.

New Book Asserts That Biden Himself Is 'Tired' of (in) His Job

The Atlantic's Franklin Foer writes in a new book, "The Last Politician," that Biden privately admits he’s “tired.”

It was striking that he took so few morning meetings or presided over so few public events before 10 a.m. His public persona reflected physical decline and time’s dulling of mental faculties that no pill or exercise regime can resist. In private, he would occasionally admit that he felt tired.

Hell, how many times have we seen Biden seemingly fall asleep in the middle of important events?

The Bottom Line

As Biden's mental health continues to deteriorate, Republicans must not put all their eggs in that basket as the 2024 presidential election looms. To do so would be a fool's game. The GOP must nominate a candidate who is least likely to alienate more voters than Joe Biden is likely to scare away.

Yes, it really is that simple.
