Remember when Democrats in 2018 blasted then-President Donald Trump for his decision to deploy roughly 800 active-duty National Guard troops at the Southern Border? Yeah, me too. Trump was ridiculously accused of “militarizing” the border, as I recall. Welp, guess what?
As reported by Fox News on Tuesday, the Biden administration has now approved sending 1,500 active-duty troops to the border in the coming days, with Title 42 set to expire on May 11. The Defense Department is scheduled to make the announcement at 2:00 ET. Shockingly [sarc], the administration is concerned that tens of thousands of illegal aliens will surge across the border, as a result, sources told Fox.
Who’d a thunk it? The administration, fronted by serial-lying Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas continues to laughingly claim the border is “secure.”
If there’s anyone in the federal government more worthy of being charged with treason — and convicted — than this liar, I’m unaware of who it is. Sure, Biden himself, but presidents and former presidents are never charged with crimes. Wait— [sarc]
Anyway, according to Fox, the troops would come from various active-duty units and would serve “in mostly administrative roles and transport roles to free up law enforcement and Border Patrol,” according to two senior U.S. officials familiar with the deliberations. Hmmm.
Sources told Fox the troop deployment would be similar to deployments to the border ordered by Trump. The troops would be armed for self-defense but would not assist with law enforcement. Color me stupid, but since when have people in administrative roles been armed for self-defense purposes?
For those in need of a refresher, Title 42 was implemented by the Trump administration at the start COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 to limit the spread of the virus from illegal aliens from countries with high rates of communicable diseases. Biden has since worked feverishly to kill Trump’s order. I know —try to control your shock and amazement.
This is a developing story and will surely be updated, as keyboard jockeys across the plains rush to beat it to smithereens, but one thing is already abundantly clear: If the Southern Border is really “secure” and under “operational control,” then why would Biden send 1,500 active-duty troops to the Rio Grande?
The question is rhetorical, of course: Biden is admitting failure by action.
