Meanwhile, Democrats Introduce Legislation to Make It Harder to Detain LGBTQ Illegal Aliens

So what do you get when you combine members of the LGBTQ community with illegal aliens? Dozens of House and Senate Democrats who introduce legislation that would make it harder to hold illegal aliens in custody if they qualify as  “vulnerable persons.”

As reported by Fox News, the Democrats’ “special” category includes gays, lesbians, and so-called transgenders who don’t speak English, or who meet other definitions under the proposed legislation. What could possibly go wrong? I mean other than anything similar to male prisoners identifying as transgender to avoid men’s prisons in favor of women’s correctional facilities, and stuff.

Whatever the case, the trusty LGBTQ card continues to reap rewards in the woke world of the left.

Here’s more, via Fox News:

The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, from Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., is aimed at setting minimum standards for detention facilities where thousands of illegal aliens are kept as they await processing.

Among other things, it would bar the use of private detention facilities and make sure government-run facilities meet minimum standards as defined by the American Bar Association.

Under the legislation, the Department of Homeland Security could arrest illegal aliens and either release them on bond or detain them while a decision is made on whether to remove them from the country. The bill sets out new rules on detention that favor aliens.

Booker said in a Thursday statement:

Our immigration system has allowed for the unjust treatment of immigrants and stripped them of their humanity and due process. We must respect and protect the basic rights of immigrants detained in the United States.

Oh please. Let’s fix that for Spartacus:

The Biden Border Crisis™ has intentionally allowed surge after surge of illegal aliens to overrun southern border towns like El Paso and put American citizens at risk, while deadly fentanyl continues to steam across the border, as well. How about first protecting the basic rights of Americans all over this country, Spartacus?

Like all Democrat legislation, the proposed bill goes far beyond its primary advertised aim of shepherding LGBTQ illegals into the country, according to Fox:

The bill goes further by seeking to exempt several groups of illegal aliens from any detention at all. It creates a “special rule for vulnerable persons and primary caregivers,” and says these aliens “may not be detained” unless DHS can demonstrate that it is “unreasonable or not practicable to place the alien in a community-based supervision program.”

Under the bill, “vulnerable person” is defined as anyone who is under 21 or older than 60, pregnant, or who “identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex.” Other vulnerable aliens are those who are a victim of or witness to a crime, anyone who has filed a nonfrivolous civil rights claim in court, anyone with a workplace claim, and those with a “serious mental or physical illness or disability.”

Aliens with a credible fear of persecution, “limited English language proficiency,” those experiencing “severe trauma,” and survivors of “torture or gender-based violence” also meet the definition of a “vulnerable person” for which DHS must take extra steps before detaining.

Well, hell. Call me cynical, but the above insanity would allow more illegal aliens into the country than it would keep out. What’s that you say? That’s their intent? Yeah, I know — I’m just pointing to the obvious.

Last but not least, here’s Pramila Jayapal:

The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act urgently reforms the alarming injustices of a broken, for-profit immigration detention system by ending the use of private detention facilities altogether, repealing mandatory detention, and prohibiting family detention while also restoring due process and increasing oversight, accountability, and transparency measures. This is a measure that will go a long way to restore humanity and dignity to the immigration system.

Again, nonsense.

The Bottom Line

The Democrat goal, which hasn’t changed since President Lyndon Johnson’s disastrous 1965 War on Poverty, is the establishment — in this case, the importation — of a permanent underclass, which the left wrongly believes will be forever beholden to the Democrat Party, given multiple polls since 2018 have shown a seismic shift in Hispanic-American votes away from the Democrat Party.

And here’s the other thing: If Democrats believed that a majority of illegal aliens — if ultimately given the right to vote — would support the Republican Party, Cory Booker, Pramila Jayapal, Chuckie Schumer, and the entire Democrat Party would lock arms in a human chain from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico to keep illegals the hell out of the country.
