While Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to make headlines, most recently by shipping 50 illegal aliens to the smug liberal enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, leading traumatized denizens to boot their uninvited guests off the island within roughly 24 hours, perfectly revealing their blatant hypocrisy, the DeSantis re-election campaign has released an emotional ad featuring a mother whose son was killed by an illegal alien.

The TV and digital ad released on Monday highlights the popular governor’s immigration policies — and actions that back them — and is being aired by the Republican Party of Florida, as reported by the Washington Examiner. DeSantis’s wife Casey tweeted a quote from the grieving mother, Kiyan Michael.

In the 60-second ad, Michael describes losing her 21-year-old son, Brandon, to a twice-deported illegal immigrant who she says “should not have been here.”

“My child was killed by someone who should not have been here.”

Michael praised DeSantis in the ad, as well.

This is what happens when we have open borders. We were able to go and meet with Governor DeSantis. He said, ‘I want to hear your son’s story.’ To see the compassion in his eyes and I saw the concern. He wanted to make sure other lives were protected.

And as a Governor, he truly has been upholding the oath that he took, which is to protect Floridians. He not only talks a good talk, but he walks it. He’s been very strong on safety. He’s been very strong on law and order. He has made our state one of the safest states to be in.

There’s no greater leader than Governor DeSantis because he didn’t just listen. He put action behind it.

Typical campaign ad content? No. From putting his governorship on the line and standing up to hyper-woke Disney — with actions — to joining Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to take the border to left-wing strongholds, DeSantis, like Abbott, has been fearless.

As to Democrats likely to blast DeSantis for “exploiting” the death of a child to “score political points”? Same hypocrites who trot out small children to use as a backdrop while calling for bans on firearms after school mass shootings — that would only impact law-abiding gun owners (See: Barack Obama.)

As I said at the top, DeSantis flew 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts last week. Despite predictably being blasted by the hypocritical left, including Barack Obama, the Florida governor has no plans to stop the flights, saying last week:

The legislature gave me $12 million. We’re going to spend every penny of that to make sure that we are protecting the people of the state of Florida. This way, these sanctuary jurisdictions can put their money where their mouth is.

I don’t know if the liberals of Martha’s Vineyard put their money where their mouth is, but I do know they raced at breakneck speed to put 50 illegal aliens off their paradise island. 

The 2024 presidential election is going to be monumental, my fellow conservatives — don’t screw it up.
