The continuing border crisis. Rising gas prices and overall inflation spiraling out of control. American citizens, purposely left behind in Afghanistan and still trapped behind Taliban lines. Plummeting Biden approval rates. An out-of-control infectious and emerging diseases “expert” and a disastrous vice president.
The list goes on.
At least no one can accuse Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats of failing to keep their priorities straight.
As reported by Reuters, the House on Tuesday voted along straight party lines (219-212) to approve a bill to create a State Department office to “address anti-Muslim bias,” after Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) called Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) a member of a “Jihad Squad.”
In addition, as reported by my colleague streiff, earlier this month, Boebert called out Omar for “financial shenanigans, a fraudulent (we hope) and incestuous marriage, and for being a member of above-mentioned ‘Jihad Squad.” — all of which, Omar has been accused of in the past, multiple times.
As to the “Jihad Squad” blast, call what you want, it matters not. What does matter is that the dopey so-called “Squad” — Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayana Pressley demonstrate anti-American, anti-Israel, pro-Islamist behavior on a regular basis.
The silly “Oh, yeah — I’ll show you!” bill was authored by Omar and would even create a special envoy for “monitoring and combating Islamophobia and include state-sponsored anti-Muslim violence in the department’s annual human rights reports,” as noted by the wire service report.
Said Omar, on the House floor:
We are in the midst of a staggering rise of anti-Muslim violence and discrimination around the world Islamophobia is global in scope and we must lead the global effort to address it.
Nonsense.

But, hey — let’s pretend it’s true. Thing is, we don’t have to pretend anti-Semitism exists. We don’t have to pretend overt racism against white Americans is rampant nor figure out where it exists. We don’t have to pretend brutal racist attacks against Asian-Americans by black Americans occur on a regular basis.
Where are those State Department offices? Where are those special envoys? I’ll wait.
New York Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin called Omar’s bill exactly what it is.
The House is voting today on an Ilhan Omar Islamophobia bill that doesn’t even define Islamophobia. The way it’s worded intentionally leaves open room to play Omar’s calculating game that ANY criticism on ANY topic related to her could be defined as “Islamophobia”. That’s absurd!
Of course, it’s absurd. Even more absurd? Nancy Pelosi and every other House Democrat lacking the character and integrity to understand what Zeldin said, choosing instead to take the faux “high moral ground” in blind support of all-things Islam. And of course, Omar knew they would.
Yet? Where are Pelosi and the Democrats in defense of Israel? They are shamelessly nowhere to be found.

On a more humorous note, this whole thing puts Chucky Schumer and Senate Democrats in a bit of a tough spot. Will Chucky advance the bill? He’ll have to. Will it pass? Zero chance. Why not?
Because it’s a blatant attempt by a group of anti-Semitic, America- and Israel-hating radical leftists and their morals-free House Speaker to spread that hatred and afford it a sense of legitimacy.
That must not be allowed to happen.
