In this episode of “The Only Thing That Stops a Bad Guy With a Gun Is a Good Guy With a Gun”…

Reality: Every time a “mass shooting” occurs, liberals and their lapdogs in the “mainstream” media pull hamstrings rushing to microphones and TV cameras to make histrionic calls for additional gun-control laws.

Other reality: Every time a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, the above-mentioned go full-metal crickets. They are nowhere to be found. Until the “terrible” news vanishes from the news cycle.

Case in point:

A legally armed bystander helped thwart a shooing in a Pennsylvania mall, earlier this week. As reported by The Blaze, an unnamed 16-year-old male started shooting after engaging in a fight with another person.

The teen, according to WGAL-TV, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots. At that point, the report noted, multiple people became involved in a struggle for the gun. The legally armed bystander intervened and was able to hit the teen suspect, sending him to the ground, noted The Blaze.

A media release from the Lancaster Bureau of Police on Monday detailed the terrifying moments before the unnamed bystander stepped in. Excerpts:

There was an initial physical altercation between two male subjects, who were known to each other. At least one of the subjects was carrying a concealed firearm and a struggle ensued for the gun. Other subjects also joined in the altercation. Gunshots were fired by the armed subject, striking one of the participants in the altercation.

Another subject joined the struggle for the firearm, and another gunshot was fired. An uninvolved bystander was in a nearby store and heard the first set of gunshots. This bystander was armed with their own, legally possessed [a] firearm. The armed bystander then engaged the subjects fighting over the gun and fired shots, striking one of the suspects.

The struggle ended and the bystander waited at the scene until officers from the Lancaster City Police and Park City Security arrived and took control of the scene. The bystander was interviewed and released. The original armed suspect who was injured in the shooting has been hospitalized and is in police custody at this time, awaiting the filing of formal charges.

Two of the other males were involved in the altercation or the struggle for the firearm who also suffered gunshot injuries. A fourth shooting victim was a female who was walking through the mall with her family and was struck in the arm when the first shots were fired. All of the injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

It appears that approximately six gunshots were fired in this incident from two firearms, one being the original armed suspect’s firearm and the second being the firearm possessed by the bystander.Witness Hana Ali said that the Good Samaritan’s presence likely made all the difference.

“I don’t know what he did before, but at that moment, he is the one that should be — he is a hero. It reminds me of the Desert Storm war when I was there. It was awful. The sounds of shooting, it’s really bringing things back to you. It’s so terrifying.”

Biden, the Democrat Party, CNN, MNBC, and a host of other gun-grabbers were unavailable for comment.

Lindsay Kahn, spokeswoman for Brookfield Property Partners, which owns the mall, told the local outlet the incident was “unfortunate” and “isolated,” as reported by The New York Post.

Uh-huh. And if innocent bystanders had been killed, apparently their deaths would have been unfortunate and isolated, as well, Ms. Kahn, but they would still be dead.

Incidentally, that whole “Defund the Police” crock of crap? Ironic, isn’t it, that even in Minneapolis, where the whole “Defund” movement began, many of those very left-wing loons who once advocated for the insanity of “no police” have since had second thoughts as gun crimes have escalated?
