As Biden and Democrats 'Study' Reparations, Herschel Walker Tells Congress: 'We Use Black Power to Create White Guilt'

Who didn’t see this coming? With the Democrats in control of both chambers of Congress and an occupant in the White House, there was no way the issue of so-called “slavery reparations” was not going to rear its head in earnest — sooner rather than later.

“Reparations” have been around since colonial times, when it was customary for “masters” to grant “freedom dues” to indentured servants who had completed their fixed term of service. Following the end of the Civil War, Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman’s Special Field Order Number 15 — widely referred to as “40 acres and mule” — offered compensation to former slaves as compensation for unpaid labor during slavery.

Now, 156 years later, we’re talking cold hard cash. A lot of it.

As reported by the New York Post on Wednesday, Nancy Pelosi’s House held hearings on Resolution 40, which would create a commission to study reparations. Democrats love commissions “studying” things; particularly “things” they already wholeheartedly support. “Shockingly,” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) reportedly sponsored the bill. Being the exploiter extraordinaire she is, Lee said last year’s Black Lives Matter “protests” featured “signs in support of HR 40,” and that now is the “right time” to create a commission. Somewhere, Rahm “Never Waste a Crisis” Emanuel is smiling.

Enter, legendary NFL running back Herschel Walker, who happens to be both black and a conservative. Walker, who has opposed reparations in the past, was among those who spoke before the House Judiciary Committee against the proposal, for several valid reasons — among them, the concept of “white guilt.”

“We use black power to create white guilt,” Walker told the House Judiciary Committee subcommittee while noting that “no one is dying to get out” of America.

“We use black power to create white guilt. My approach is biblical: how can I ask my Heavenly Father to forgive me if I can’t forgive my brother?

“America is the greatest country in the world for me, a melting pot of a lot of great races, a lot of great minds that have come together with different ideas to make Americans the greatest country on Earth.

“Many have died trying to get into America. No one is dying trying to get out.

“Who is the guilty party? Should we start at the beginning where African Americans sold your African American ancestors into slavery? And to a slave trader who eventually sold African American ancestors to slave owners?”

Given the revisionist history fed to America for decades (think: Alex Haley’s book and mini-series “Roots“), about the origin of slavery in America, I’d venture a bet that the majority of Americans, both black and white, are clueless when it comes to the reality of the slave trade. Then again, to quote Hillary, what difference would it make? “Just give us the cash.”

Speaking of cash, where would reparations come from, as Walker asked.

“Reparations, where does the money come from? Does it come from all the other races except the black taxpayers? Who is black? What percentage of black must you be to receive reparations?

“Some American ancestors just came to this country 80 years ago, their ancestors wasn’t [sic] even here during slavery. Some black immigrants weren’t here during slavery, nor their ancestors. Some states didn’t even have slavery.”

There you go again, Herschel. Don’t you understand it’s against the rules to use facts, data, history, logic, and common sense with the left? Remember, man, it’s all about emotion and symbolism over substance. Along with pandering and exploitation — always with an eye on the voting booth.

Incidentally, Jackson Lee was not a happy camper about the Republicans calling black conservatives — Walker, along author and syndicated radio host Larry Elder to speak before the committee. Yeah, that’s not racist at all.

“Like our last hearing, the minority has selected two African-American witnesses to speak against HR 40. That is their privilege. But we know that justice, facts and that life that was led and continues to be led by African Americans is on our side.”

Nonsense. Jackson Lee and every Democrat in that room loathe black conservatives, just as they loathe LGBTQ conservatives, conservative women, conservative Muslims, and conservative members of every other group they deem required to live on the liberal plantation — solely because of the color of their skin, gender, sexual orientation, or faith.

Larry Elder delivered a few body blows to the reparations narrative, as well.

“Despite all the problems that have been brought up in this committee about racism, about slavery, about Jim Crow, black people have overcome to the point now where only 20 percent of black people are below the federally defined level for poverty — still too high, but in 1940 that number was 87 percent and 20 years later that number had been reduced to 47 percent.”

Oops, Larry. Again, unfair use of facts and data.

Finally, Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) further shredded the lie of systemic racism and oppression of black Americans.

“The reality is that black American history is not one of a hapless hopeless race oppressed by a more powerful white race. Instead, a history of millions of middle and wealthy-class black Americans throughout the early 20th century achieving the American dream.”

Pandering. Exploitation. More often than not, hollow promises. All for votes. The mainstay of the Democrat Party for nearly six decades. And they eagerly embrace every bit of it.
