What can be said about Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz? In some ways, Walz makes draconian Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the hypocrite extraordinaire, Gov. Gavin Newsom, who smugly rules the People’s Republic of California, look like pikers.
Walz stood idly by four months, as did the equally-hapless Mayor of Minneapolis Jacob Frey, as Black Lives Matter Marxists and Antifa anarchists nearly burned Minnesota’s largest city to the ground. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the Minneapolis Police Department began to see early retirements, signs of PTSD, and low morale within a force that was all but neutered by Democrat politicians, as rioting continued, $8 million was slashed from the department’s budget, and violent crime continued to soar.
“The City Council is decimating the police department. The number of working officers is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. Murders, shootings, and other violent crimes are approaching record levels.” // What could possibly go wrong? https://t.co/Ko57TVJaRF

Finally, after months of inept inaction, the intrepid Democrat governor has finally taken a courageous step in a bold move to strike back — by threatening to imprison business owners who have no options to feed their families other than keeping their businesses open; while at the same time, releasing violent criminals, including child killers, as violent crime continues to soar in Minnesota’s Twin Cities region.
If that doesn’t have “Democrat governance” written all over it, I’m not sure what does.
One business owner being threatened by Waltz with prison time is Larvita McFarquhar.
And here’s what Ms. McFarquhar thinks about that — and where Walz can stick it:
“But are you aware that the governor’s mandate is not a law? The governor does not pass laws and you are supposed to uphold the Constitution. You don’t work for the governor. You work for us.”
A confused Walz could be heard mumbling, Wait — I work for them?” [sarc]

Here’s background on McFarquhar as reported by The Blaze:
Larvita McFarquhar is America embodied. An African-American single mom with four children to support, Larvita never asked for handouts. She opened Haven’s Garden, in Lynd, Minnesota, a family-oriented restaurant with an attached gymnasium for kids to have a good time.
She is the ultimate entrepreneur and family woman, but in Walz’s Sodom and Gomorrah, she is now a criminal. She had the audacity to pursue the rights spelled out in the Declaration of Independence and kept her business open at great expense with full compliance with all the unscientific distancing restrictions.
On Wednesday afternoon, Nathan Hansen, Larvita’s attorney, tweeted the following:
“Today at 1:30 PM, I am defending Larvita McFarquhar, the owner of Haven’s Garden, located in Lynd, Minnesota, in a lawsuit filed by the Minnesota Department of Health. Ms. McFarquhar has decided to keep her restaurant open, despite Governor Tim Walz’s executive order.”

“Haven’s Garden’s owner, Ms. McFarquhar, is claiming an equal protection violation as numerous bars and restaurants on tribal lands in Minnesota have been permitted to remain open for on-premises consumption of food and beverages.”
I’m not a lawyer but based on the following, it appears that discrimination is in play here.

“Last evening, Assistant Minnesota Attorney General Kaitrin C. Vohs filed court documents to have Ms. McFarquahr potentially imprisoned to force her compliance with Governor Tim Walz’s executive order, despite the clear inequitable treatment of bars and restaurants in Minnesota.”
How much clearer could discrimination be, here?

Larvita McFarquhar isn’t the only business owner to defy Walz’s discriminatory draconian order. More than 150 other business owners, many of whom I would assume also have families to feed, are right there with her.

Meanwhile, as reported by The Blaze’s Daniel Horowitz, there’s the other side of the coin in Walz’s twisted way of “reasoning.”
On Tuesday, Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, as part of the state’s Board of Pardons, voted to immediately commute the life sentence of Myon Burrell after he served 18 years for the murder of 11-year-old Tyesha Edwards in 2002.
He intended to kill someone else in a gang fight that day, but a stray bullet hit Edwards in the heart while she was in her home doing schoolwork.
Burrell’s cousin and jailmate testified in 2002 that he confessed to the killing, and Timothy Oliver, the intended victim of the shooting, testified that Burrell pulled the trigger. But, of course, Burrell and his lawyer maintain that he is an innocent man.
Naturally, Burrell was “wrongly convicted.”
Aren’t certain child murderers always “wrongly convicted”? The fact that the little girl was not Burrell’s intended target doesn’t make her any less dead.
Anyway, Minnesotans, not to worry; your intrepid governor courageously continues to rid your streets and neighborhoods of dangerous criminals like Larvita McFarquhar.
You know, so that you can sleep soundly at night, with the knowledge that Larvita and other nefarious characters just like her might soon be safely behind bars.
