Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is apparently still not over the thorough thrashing he took from Democrat voters during his miserably-failed 2020 presidential run. Now Swally wants revenge.

Against Donald Trump. Who else?

Lying through his teeth saying he “doesn’t take this lighty,” Swalwell mused about what “we” need to do when “we escape this Trump hell.”

“I don’t say this lightly: when we escape this Trump hell, America needs a Presidential Crimes Commission. It should be made up of independent prosecutors who look at those who enabled a corrupt president. Example 1: Sabotaging the mail to win an election.”

Before we break the news to Swalwell, his latest faux-dramatic hissy fit was part and parcel of the ridiculous Democrat conspiracy theory that Donald Trump wants to do away with the U.S. Postal Service, as reported by my colleague Nick Arama on Thursday.

As reported by The Hill, here’s background on apparently what set Swalwell off — this time:

Swalwell’s tweet follows the United States Postal Service (USPS) announcing that 46 states are at risk of citizens not having their vote-by-mail ballot arrive in time to be counted in the November election as the agency faces delayed delivery, policy changes and a funding emergency during the coronavirus pandemic.

As people worry about the health risks posed by voting in person during the pandemic, switching to mail-in-voting and initiatives by states to make it widespread has been a subject of debate. But Trump has cast doubt on the security of vote-by-mail, and has alleged without evidence that it will lead to election fraud.

OK, now let’s break it to Swally, shall we?

Oops, huh?

Stanley’s mention of John Durham was in reference to the Durham investigation, in which the U.S. attorney is “looking into” goings-on related to the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation.

As my colleague Shipwreckedcrew reported on Friday, former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith was expected to plead guilty to a false-statements charge in conjunction with Durham’s probe.

The bottom line:

Swalwell and his Democrat colleagues are fully aware that “presidential crimes commissions” have existed in one form or another for decades.

Whether impeachment in the House (which the Democrats did) and possible conviction in the Senate (which the Democrats lost), special counsels (formerly called “special prosecutors”), along with various other sorts of commissions, mechanisms exist by which presidents can be found “guilty” — or exonerated.

What Swalwell is really whining about is his disdain for the results of the various probes into Donald Trump; most of which were preplanned by Congressional Democrats the nanosecond Trump was elected.
