Now that Joe Biden has finally tapped Kamala Harris as his running mate, Democrat operatives have issued a warning to news outlets — via an actual memo — that criticism of the California Democrat will be considered “racist” and/or “sexist.”
In other words, hypocritical business as usual in the Democrat Party.
Not that Democrat mouthpieces like CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, Washington Post, and other left-leaning shills needed to be warned about the “Harris Rules” — not dissimilar to the “Jordan Rules” during Michael Jordan’s playing days, sports fans.
In an op-ed for The Washington Times, radio show host and Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce said media organizations have been warned to be “very, very careful” with how they cover Harris.
Media organizations have just been warned by the Democratic Party machine that they better be very, very careful with how they cover presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s vice presidential choice — just revealed to be Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.
Any criticism of [Harris] will be considered racist and sexist, we are told. Oh, they wrap up that threat in a word salad, but that’s the bottom line: There should be second and even third thoughts about any criticism of Mr. Biden’s VP pick.
An actual memo went out from an ad hoc group of Democratic operatives (pretending to be advocates for women) to media organizations with orders on how to proceed with their coverage.
The fact that they expected this partisan missive to be accepted and adhered to by media entities tells you all you need to know about the problem with today’s legacy media.
Harris included an excerpt from the memo, which in part admonishes news outlets to heed what they have “learned” in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death.
“Our country — and your newsrooms — have learned a lot since the [death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody] and the subsequent protests for racial equality that his death spurred […] We know from public reporting that many of your newsrooms had internal conversations about your coverage, your diversity and your editorial judgments.
“A woman VP candidate, and possibly a Black or Brown woman candidate, requires the same kind of internal consideration about systemic inequality as you undertook earlier this year […].
“We are here to help [LOL] you with this challenge […]. We intend to collectively and individually monitor coverage and we will call out those we believe take our country backwards with sexist and/or racist coverage. As we enter another historic moment, we will be watching you.”
“We will be watching you.” How Orwellian.
The memo was right — albeit for reasons other than its intent.
News outlets like CNN and MSNBC learned that if they exploited Floyd’s death — just like they exploited the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Ahmad Abery, et al. — they could, night after night, whip up hysteria against “systemic racism” and “white supremacy.”
On the other hand, conservative news outlets “learned” from post-Brown coverage what they’ve known since the inception of mainstream conservative talk radio (Rush Limbaugh, Neil Boortz, and others), and the advent of Fox News:
Conservative commentary and factual reporting had been labeled “racist,” “white supremacist,” “sexist,” “misogynistic,” “homophobic,” “xenophobic,” “Islamophobic,” and the like, from the beginning.
So, to paraphrase the infamous words of Hillary Clinton, what difference does it now make?
How will Democrats and their liberal media lapdogs react to any reporting or commentary about Harris that isn’t complimentary, or that destroys their silly narrative that the California Democrat is a “pragmatic centrist”? By doing exactly what the memo quoted by Tammy Bruce warns.
Incidentally, as reported by Fox News on Wednesday, Harris was recently named by GovTrack.us as the most liberal senator in 2019. According to a GovTrack analysis, Harris voted for bipartisan legislation “the least often compared to [all] Senate Democrats.”
Nonetheless, The New York Times on Tuesday incredulously referred to Harris as a “pragmatic moderate.”

For those of you keeping score at home, Bernie Sanders ranked as the second most liberal, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) was third, with Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) in the four-spot.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning, Bruce said the Democrat “rules” on the treatment of Harris expose the hypocrisy of their treatment of conservative women.
Thanks for joining us on @foxandfriends! Terrific to be on w @SteveDoocy @ainsleyearhardt & @kilmeade 👍 FYI, here’s my column we discussed: “Tammy Bruce: Dems’ ‘rules’ to media on Biden VP pick exposes hypocritical treatment of conservative women” https://t.co/MYkwe0CeCZ

In a RedState piece on Wednesday, I wrote about the same level of hypocrisy on full display in Hollywood following Biden’s announcement of Harris as his running mate.
I included this warning from pretend-comedian Amy Schumer.
The sexist and racist political attacks on @KamalaHarris have already begun. Let’s demand that the media keep these ignorant, bad-faith attacks out of their 2020 election coverage. Let her know: #WeHaveHerBack https://t.co/J7jS49Dduf

Apparently Schumer — along with all liberals — “forgot” about the Left’s despicable sexist treatment of Sarah Palin in 2008 after she was selected by John McCain as his vice presidential running mate. One “highlight” was David Letterman’s inexcusable “joke.”
“One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”
Palin’s daughter Willow was 14-years-old at the time.
Meanwhile, the Democrat Party “will be watching you,” America.
Please.
