Anti-Trump activist — and apparently part-time actress — Alyssa Milano posted a 1:35 minute video to Twitter on Sunday in which she pretty much just silently combed strands of wet hair from her head — an apparent effort to prove COVID leads to hair loss.

As the video ends, the obviously irritated activist admonishes all you mask-deniers out there: “Wear a damn mask!” Fade to black, all good.

“Thought I’d show you what #Covid19 does to your hair,” she warned. “Please take this seriously. #WearADamnMask #LongHauler.”

In an Instagram post last week, Milano said she tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies after she “started feeling better.” During a two-week period in early April, she said, “I thought I was dying.”

“Everything hurt. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t keep food in me. I lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks. I was confused. Low grade fever. And the headaches were horrible. I basically had every Covid symptom.”

How bad was it?

“After living the last 4 months with lingering symptoms like, vertigo, stomach abnormalities, irregular periods, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, zero short term memory, and general malaise, I went and got an antibody test from a blood draw (not the finger prick) from a lab. I am POSITIVE for covid antibodies.”

Milano said she was tested twice for the virus in March and that both results were negative.

This was me on April 2nd after being sick for 2 weeks. I had never been this kind of sick. Everything hurt. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t keep food in me. I lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks. I was confused. Low grade fever. And the headaches were horrible. I basically had every Covid symptom. At the very end of march I took two covid19 tests and both were negative. I also took a covid antibody test (the finger prick test) after I was feeling a bit better. NEGATIVE. After living the last 4 months with lingering symptoms like, vertigo, stomach abnormalities, irregular periods, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, zero short term memory, and general malaise, I went and got an antibody test from a blood draw (not the finger prick) from a lab. I am POSITIVE for covid antibodies. I had Covid19. I just want you to be aware that our testing system is flawed and we don’t know the real numbers. I also want you to know, this illness is not a hoax. I thought I was dying. It felt like I was dying. I will be donating my plasma with hopes that I might save a life. Please take care of yourselves. Please wash your hands and wear a mask and social distance. I don’t want anyone to feel the way I felt. Be well. I love you all (well, maybe not the trolls. Just the kind people.)❤️

In a follow-up tweet to her hair-combing video, Milano cited a “survey,” which claimed “65% of COVID-19 survivors surveyed report experiencing hair loss, among other long-term effects.”

According to the survey conducted by Survivor Corps, a nonprofit aimed at coronavirus education for survivors of the illness, and Dr. Natalie Lambert from Indiana University School of Medicine, 65.7% of 1,700 respondents reported experiencing hair loss.

The survey was conducted on Survivor Corps’ Facebook page, in which it asked its members if they had experienced a wide array of COVID symptoms. As Fox5 in New York noted, members of groups like Survivor Corps have commonly been referred to as “long haul survivors,” and thousands of them can be found in dozens of other support groups on Facebook.

Definitive proof of COVID-related hair loss? You make the call.

During a Thursday segment on CNN, Milano described her “bout” with the virus to host Chris Cuomo. As the segment began, CNN put up an image of Milano wearing what appeared to be a ventilator mask, along with the graphic:

“I am positive for COVID antibodies. I have COVID19. I just want you to be aware that our testing system is flawed and we don’t know the real numbers. I also want you to know this illness is not a hoax. I thought I was dying.”

The ever-faux-dramatic Fredo loved every minute of it, profusely showering the part-time actress with praise for being “right” all along.

Did I mention that Milano thinks crocheted masks do the trick?

Anyway, Alyssa being Alyssa, I’m often inclined to dismiss her latest admonishment out of hand. This is not to say she’s wrong, here. Then again, this is the same Alyssa Milano who in May linked COVID and social distancing to “bringing dangerous firearms into our homes.”

The problem, as RedState’s Jeff Charles observed at the time, Milano claims her home is a “two-gun household” and that she is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights.

Hollywood. Very confusing. Wait. Make that confused.
