During a virtual presentation on Saturday titled “Show Me Your Walk, HBCU [Historically Black Colleges and Universities] Edition,” former President Barack Obama took (created) the opportunity to criticize “folks in charge” while talking about the Wuhan virus pandemic.
Pot, meet kettle.
Barack Obama slamming “folks in charge” — of anything — is like Michael Moore trying to guilt-shame a top marathon runner for eating a Hershey’s Kiss after a long run.
Nonetheless, during his comments to students graduating from historically black colleges and universities that was live-streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter — in which he “shockingly” included thinly-veiled shots at President Donald Trump — Obama said:
“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing. A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”
Really, O? Shall we take a trip down “Folks in Charge” Memory Lane?
Who was in charge of the greatest healthcare coverage disaster in American history, and looked straight into the camera and lied to millions of people about being able to keep their existing healthcare plans? Their doctors? Their hospitals? And said family premiums would be decreasing by an average of $2,500 in the first year?
Who doubled the National Debt in just eight years — with no global pandemic in sight?
Who crippled America’s manufacturing workforce — and ridiculed then-presidential-candidate Donald Trump for pledging to bring manufacturing jobs back, saying he’d need a “magic wand” to do so?
Who repeatedly threatened to bankrupt the U.S. coal industry through excessive taxation and government regulation — and bragged about planning to do so on multiple occasions?
Who continually pitted black Americans against white Americans, arguably creating the most racially-divided America since at least the early 60s and the Civil Rights movement in the South? Who sided with thugs and tried his best to turn the nation against its police forces?
Who warned Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad that if he were to use chemical weapons, it would be a “red line” — a “game-changer” — then did zero when al-Assad used those terrible weapons against his country’s own women and children — at least twice?
Here’s the thing, O.
Your arrogance and hypocrisy — particularly during your eight years on your self-gilded throne — was eclipsed only by your level of incompetence — which you demonstrated time and time again.
