We’re being barraged with so many serious problems in the runup to the 2020 election that it’s hard to give any single one the attention it deserves. And one issue that most directly affects which party prevails in November, stealth data manipulation by big tech, is slipping through the cracks.
Corporations like Google, Facebook, and Twitter are in control of the public square. They can decide which ideas and facts get maximum exposure and which get stifled. We witnessed a truly frightening campaign of overt censorship on Monday when Facebook censored a video a group called ‘Frontline Doctors’ did that had garnered over 17 million views before it was deleted. Next Google subsidiary YouTube yanked another video of their event. Finally, website hosting provider, Squarespace, shut their website down.
If you haven’t heard of Frontline Doctors… well, that’s not very surprising given the obviously coordinated effort big tech is making to make sure you don’t. The group of working physicians was formed to get the word out that the alleged scientific consensus on COVID-19 the media is pushing is anything but. As I reported a few weeks back, literally thousands of esteemed scientists and doctors believe not only that COVID-19 is no more threatening than the flu but also that the COVID-1984 media-induced panic and unprecedented authoritarian response are the real menaces to public health.
Putting an entire nation including the vast majority of perfectly healthy people into quarantine has never been so much as suggested during any prior pandemic, let alone actually imposed.
And it speaks volumes about how big tech controls the flow of ideas that the vast majority of Americans have been convinced that insane and pointless restrictions that no one had ever heard of six months ago which thousands of physicians have declared a literal mass casualty incident are, instead, a tried-and-true well-known public health strategy.
Way back in April, Dr. Dan Erickson of Frontline Doctors did a video explaining that the epidemic of lockdown-fever sweeping the nation violated the basic principles of both immunology and microbiology and was only radically exacerbating a host of already too serious and deadly public health problems. He also presented data from all over the world showing that COVID-19 is, at worse, not much more serious than the flu. Erickson’s video was censored by YouTube as soon as it started to go viral. Monday’s conference was a second bigger attempt to get the word out. But big tech just ramped up their efforts to keep people from hearing Erickson and his colleague’s professional opinions.
The fact that Google, Facebook, and Foursquare engaged in a merciless campaign to stop Americans from hearing anyone’s opinion on any subject is frightening. That these multinational corporations with no allegiance whatsoever to the American people worked so hard to stifle dissenting expert opinions about an unprecedented crisis we’re facing is orders of magnitude worse.
But, as Alex Berenson pointed out months back, tech giants are the biggest beneficiaries of these state-imposed lockdowns. When all our business, churches, and other public activities are shut down, there’s not much left to do except spend more time online. So the relentless propaganda Google, Facebook, and Twitter, bombarded us with to sell the lockdowns was itself manipulation of public opinion that should have caused serious skepticism and alarm.
The intensity of the propaganda effort to convince us “social distancing” is not just normal but heroic is overwhelming. (And led, of course, by @Facebook, which just so happens to be the world’s biggest beneficiary of it.) We’re all in this together, we are told…

But, of course, even putting aside their incredibly vested financial interest in keeping us locked up at home and isolated, companies like Google and Facebook have another huge motivation to use their almost limitless power to manipulate public opinion to cause a nationwide panic and then gaslight us into believing a heretofore unheard of senseless and catastrophic response is, instead, just common sense, conventional, medical wisdom: Orange Man Bad.
It’s no secret that the people who control which facts and opinions we get to hear not only loathe Donald Trump. They explicitly laid the blame for his defeating Hillary Clinton on the fact that they were too generous about what the information they allowed us to get in 2016.
It’s been almost two years since Breitbart reported that:
A few days after the 2016 election, at an internal meeting later leaked to Breitbart News, top Google executives, including Sundar Pichai, Sergey Brin, and Kent Walker, lamented President Trump’s victory, comparing Trump voters to “extremists” and discussing their desire to make Trump’s election and the populist movement a “blip” in history.
Since then we’ve had some congressional hearings but no action whatsoever. Indeed, when executives from Facebook and Twitter testified to the Senate, even Tom Cotton spent his allotted time trying to get them to increase their censorship of dissenting voices by badgering them into removing WikiLeaks from their platforms.
WikiLeaks did the job our corrupt media refused to do in 2016 by laying bare Hillary Clinton’s corruption and incompetence for all to see. It’s bad enough that Republicans have done nothing in the face of demonstrative proof that big tech would work to defeat Trump in 2016. But to hear someone most believe to be a stalwart ally like Tom Cotton trying to silence one of the only voices that actively worked to get out the truth in 2016 is truly frightening.
Of course, Cotton’s excuse was that WikiLeaks was working for the Russians. But the fact is that we’ve been presented with no proof at all that this is so and plenty that it’s all a big lie.
Mueller indicted 12 Russians for hacking the DNC. But he knew he’d never have to bring them to trial. Hence, the indictment he issued served no legal purpose whatsoever and was clearly just an exercise in narrative building. Any real conservative who isn’t gravely suspicious of a narrative Robert Mueller has worked hard to promote is to be congratulated for coming out of that coma he must have been in these past few years.
Moreover, thanks to Richard Grenell’s tenure as Trump’s acting Director of National Intelligence, we now know that we were lied to for four years and there never was any proof the Russians hacked the DNC. Grenell released testimony by Shawn Henry the public didn’t even know existed. Henry is the president of CrowdStrike, the DNC tech firm who were the only ones allowed to examine their server and, it just so happens, head of FBI cyber-security before joining the firm, promoted by none other than Robert Mueller. And contrary to what we’ve relentlessly heard, Henry testified that they had no proof the Russian’s exfiltrated any files from the DNC server.
So failing to act on demonstrable proof that big tech intended to use their control over public opinion to stop Trump’s second term and, instead, pushing for Facebook and Twitter to stifle the only voice that worked to expose Hillary Clinton’s unfitness for office makes one wonder whose side the Republicans in congress are really on.
But the overt censorship big tech is capable of pales in comparison to what they can achieve covertly. I spend a lot of time researching stories and over the past few months, I’ve noticed that it’s harder to find any information that casts Trump in a good light on Google. I’ve repeatedly had the experience of trying to find articles I know exist that belie some media anti-Trump narrative and getting page after page of search results from Google that, instead, reinforce it.
And we now know that Google has been manipulating search results to silence probably the world’s biggest conservative website, Breitbart. As they reported earlier today:
Google Has Been Purging Breitbart Content from Search Results Since the 2016 Election…
On April 4, 2016, Breitbart ranked in the top ten search positions (i.e., on the first page of Google search results) for 355 key search terms; but now, as of July 20, 2020, Breitbart ranks in the top ten search positions for only one search term. And, on April 4, 2016, Breitbart ranked in the top 100 search positions for 16,820 key search terms; but now, as of July 20, 2020, Breitbart ranks in the top ten search positions for only 55 search terms.
Breitbart’s investigation also showed that:
Google Just Killed All Search Traffic to Breitbart for Joe Biden and Joe Biden-Related Searches
And the stifling of conservative voices they uncovered isn’t restricted to them:
Google Search Rankings Suggest More Wholesale Suppression of Conservative Publishers
Breitbart News isn’t the only conservative news site that has an unusually low position in Google’s search rankings. Alexa data shows that the percentage of traffic to conservative websites that come from Google is far lower than that of corporate media sites.
Eight of the ten lowest-ranked sites (Breitbart News, Fox News, The Daily Caller, The Blaze, Reason, The Federalist, The Daily Wire, the Washington Examiner) in the chart above are conservative.
Meanwhile, all ten of the top-ranked sites, with the arguable exception of heavy.com, are from the corporate, liberal-leaning, or leftist media. Far-left Vox.com is placed third.
The highest-ranking conservative-leaning news publishers — the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal, and the British Daily Mail are all newspapers and part of the media establishment and are relatively centrist. Yet even they are far behind leftist outlets like Vox and the Guardian in Google traffic. The top online-only conservative outlets — Breitbart News, The Daily Caller, and The Blaze — are all near the bottom.
Anyone with eyes to see knows that the big tech companies are working to make sure Biden wins in 2020.
We’ve had demonstrable proof of their intentions for two years now and, instead, of doing something about it, all we’ve gotten from congressional Republicans or the DOJ is talk.
It’s no surprise given their inaction that Google has dialed up their efforts at mass mind-control by making sure people don’t hear conservative refutations of the corporate establishment’s deceitful narratives.
A few multinational corporations with no allegiance to the American people now have the power to completely control public opinion. They’re using it, we know they’re using it, and, because of GOP inaction, they don’t care that we know.
One has to wonder, whether Republicans in congress really want Trump to be reelected in 2020 and how committed they really are to stopping the Democrats from tearing everything of value down.
