Tuesday morning's Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions got heated when Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) challenged the General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Sean O'Brien, to a fight.

Senator Mullin challenged O'Brien to a fight after Mullin read one of O'Brien's tweets (from June) calling the Senator from Oklahoma a "clown and fraud."

Mullin, after he finished reading O'Brien's X post, immediately challenged O'Brien.

“This is a time, this is a place. We can be two consenting adults. We can finish it here.” “OK that’s fine, perfect,” O’Brien replied. “You wanna do it now?” Mullin said. “Would love to do it right now,” O’Brien replied. “Well stand your butt up then,” Mullin said. “You stand your butt up,” O’Brien replied.

The Senate HELP committee hearing erupted as both Mullin and O'Brien stood up in an attempt to fight on the floor of the chamber. Committee Chairman Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) attempted to physically restrain Mullin from going down and meeting O'Brien on the floor of the chamber and then pounded the gavel in an attempt to regain control of the meeting. Sanders shouted at both to sit down.

Senator Mullin and Sean O'Brien have had somewhat of a public spat over the past months on X, with both Mullin and O'Brien trading jabs at one another, and it finally came to a head this morning. Mullin can be seen in the video taking off his ring as he was standing up, while O'Brien was not backing down either. The hearing temporarily descended into chaos as Mullin and O'Brien looked as if they were going to come to blows in what would have been an unprecedented moment for the United States Senate.

Mullin, who also happens to be a former mixed martial arts fighter with a 3-0 fight record, obviously knows how to fight. While O'Brien does not have the same background as Mullin, he is a sizeable figure, so a potential fight between the two would have been interesting, to say the least, in a completely unprofessional but morbid curiosity kind of way.

Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed, and everyone took their seats and went back to a somewhat relative peace between Mullin and O'Brien. The hearing then went on without any further incident. However, many people are now going to speculate what the future holds for the two. Will they meet again outside of the Senate, or will they schedule a fight between the two for a charity event? In today's world, you never know.
