Tomorrow, Wednesday May 13th, the U.S. House is expected to take up the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36).
This bill seeks to stop brutal late-term abortions after 20 weeks, or 5 months of pregnancy, based on the child’s ability to feel excruciating pain.
The vote on this compassionate bill coincides with the two-year anniversary of the conviction of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a grisly abortionist who showed no compassion for his victims: He snipped the spinal cords of infants born alive during abortions.
As [mc_name name=’Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’F000448′ ], the bill’s chief sponsor, so eloquently said in a letter to his colleagues last Friday:
“While Kermit Gosnell was convicted of murder for his crimes against the newly born babies, the crushing fact is that abortions on babies just like the ones killed by Gosnell have been happening in America every single day, for the past 40 years. Let us not forget that, had Gosnell decapitated these babies while still in utero, just moments earlier, he would have, in many places nationwide, been performing an entirely legal procedure. The difference between murder and a completely legal action is mere inches.” (emphasis added)
By passing H.R. 36, the pro-life House will make it clear that there is no difference between what Gosnell did to his victims and what late-term abortionists are doing to babies every single day in America.

In allowing these brutal, gruesome abortions, America stands as one of just seven countries to do so – standing with countries such as China and North Korea, hardly known for being champions of human rights.
Stand up for human rights. Stop the pain. Stop the Gosnells. Contact your Representative now.
