On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump delivered the State of the Union address, covering a wide variety of topics, from the border to foreign policy to remembering the families who lost loved ones, mainly due to career criminals let out by radical district attorneys and illegal aliens allowed in by the Biden administration's open border policy.
The Democrats surprisingly stood up and applauded when Trump brought up the idea of banning insider trading for politicians. But that was one of the very few times they stood up for anything the president had to say. Their true colors were shown on Tuesday night when Trump said there has been a "tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity, and belief in God" in the United States of America, primarily due to the late, great Charlie Kirk.
The Democrats remained seated as Trump continued:
In Charlie's memory, we must all come together to reaffirm that America is one nation under God, and we must totally reject political violence of any kind.

Just about the only time in this clip the Democrats stood up was when Trump said to reject political violence, no matter which side of the aisle you are on. At least they had the decency to stand up for that.
However, Trump then spoke about Iryna Zarutska, who fled her war-torn country of Ukraine to seek a better and safer life in America. But unfortunately, a career criminal who was in and out of prison took her life. Zarutska's mother was in the audience, seated next to Charlie's widow, Erika Kirk. Not one Democrat stood up when Trump mentioned Zarutska's murder. This is the party that pretends to care about Ukrainians and the war going on between Ukraine and Russia. They could not even bring themselves to stand up and pay their respects to a mother who lost her daughter.

Trump said, in part:
She [Iryna Zarutska] had escaped a brutal war, only to be slain by a hardened criminal, set free to kill in America. Came in through open borders. Mrs. Zarutska, tonight, I promise you, we will ensure justice for your magnificent daughter, Iryna.
It is shameful that the Democrats could not even stand to pay their respects for a mother who lost her daughter at the hands of a criminal who had gone in and out of prison due to leftist policies that many on the Democrat side, like Reps. Ilhan Omar (MN-05) and Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) support.
Furthermore, Trump had a simple request:
If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.
Democrats stayed seated, which to some of us did not come as a surprise, but more Americans saw for themselves that the current Democrat party prioritizes illegal aliens over American citizens.

Trump continued:
Isn't that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself for not standing up. You should be ashamed -- that is why I'm also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens, in many cases, drug lords, murderers, all over the country.
This should not be a controversial statement, nor should it be something that any American, let alone a politician who should be serving the interests of the American people, and the American people alone, should disagree with.
It was a disgrace to see Democrats stay seated for so many of the things brought up by Trump on Tuesday, and while it wasn't a surprise to most of us, those who tuned in and don't follow politics as often saw exactly what we saw and will remember that when voting in November.
