Miami Mayor Francis Suarez explained how his city remains the safest major city in America, and Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo asked him whether he has 2024 Presidential aspirations.
Suarez said:
“When you compare the Miami miracle to the Washington nightmare, you see a situation where in Washington, inflation is rampant, everyday goods are more expensive because of deficit spending … In Miami, we balance our budget. We actually have $145 million surplus, the most in our history. We keep taxes low while Washington keeps increasing taxes.”
Suarez added that Miami has a record-low 1.4 percent unemployment rate, and the city has seen a 12 percent increase in revenue year-over-year, “which is the second-most in recorded history.” This type of leadership should be a model for the nation.
Suarez continued:
“Miami was voted the happiest city in America and the healthiest city in America. So it turns out if people are healthy, if people are happy, if they’re paying low taxes, if they’re working, they’re not going to be committing homicide … So it’s a very easy recipe for success. It can be scaled to the rest of the country, but it takes political courage.”
Suarez spoke about people waking up to the fact that socialism has not, does not, and will never work, saying:
“The numbers that we’re seeing actually tell a different story, that either more Republicans are moving over here or people are changing to become Republicans because they’re sort of fleeing the socialist model, which we know has never worked in the history of humanity, hasn’t worked in any country, and it hasn’t worked in any setting.”
“It’s not going to work because it pushes people out … Like New York famously pushed out Amazon HQ, too, and San Francisco famously pushed out Elon Musk.”
Bartiromo asked Suarez about a potential 2024 White House bid, and he responded:
“Look, it’s a long way aways … Right now, I’m excited to preside over the presidency of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and try to convince other mayors across America that the Miami model works, that they need to adopt it so that they can create prosperity in their cities.”
“If that continues to work, and if Miami continues to be successful … then I think there’s going to be tremendous amount of options available for me politically if I decide that I want to continue to serve.”
He added:
“We’re doing our due diligence and, of course, doing what I have to do as mayor to try to continue to highlight the things that are happening in Miami … which we think, again, should be a model for the rest of the country.”

Suarez’s formula for success is not complicated: safety, low taxes, limited government, and keeping the economy booming. Following the successful policies Suarez implemented for the city of Miami, he seems to have emerged as a potential Presidential candidate, whether that is in 2024 or down the road. Suarez is 44 years old, so we could even see him run for Governor once DeSantis is termed out if he doesn’t want to run for President right away. Whatever Suarez decides to do, he will have a successful resume to show Floridians and the American people.
Mayor @FrancisSuarez on why Miami has lowest crime rate since 1930’s:
1. Increased police funding
2. Most police officers in history
3. Lowest taxes in history
4. 1.4% unemployment rate
5. Local economy grew 12%#FoxNews #PublicSafety #Economics👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 pic.twitter.com/q5MfUotP9X

Whether former President Donald Trump decides to run in 2024, there will be a lot of options for Vice President. If he does not run, there are many options in the GOP, such as Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Mayor Francis Suarez (R-FL), Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA), and a deep bench of people waiting for the right moment to jump into the race.
