One week ago today, the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Now, Trump is speaking out, saying he wants the temperature to be lowered.
Following the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, Trump says he “will do whatever” he can “to help the country.” He told Fox News Digital that the “temperature has to be brought down” while saying the American people are “not going to stand for another scam.”
Trump says he asked his representatives to reach out to the Department of Justice to give a helping hand in the midst of shock and anger due to the FBI’s raid. Trump says the records are declassified.
“The country is in a very dangerous position. There is tremendous anger, like I’ve never seen before, over all of the scams, and this new one—years of scams and witch hunts, and now this.”
He continues:
“If there is anything we can do to help, I, and my people, would certainly be willing to do that.”
“There has never been a time like this where law enforcement has been used to break into the house of a former president of the United States, and there is tremendous anger in the country—at a level that has never been seen before, other than during very perilous times.”
Trump tells Fox News that he “has not heard yet” from the Justice Department. It is unclear whether the DOJ will accept the help or not.
“I think they would want the same thing—I’ve never seen anything like this … It is a very dangerous time for our country.”
He adds:
“I will do whatever I can to help the country.” He mentioned the “years of fake witch hunts and phony Russia, Russia, Russia schemes and scams … nothing happens to those people who perpetuate that—nothing happens with them … “And then they break into a president’s house— a sneak attack where it was totally—no one ever thought a thing like this would happen.”
Trump went into detail about the FBI raid, saying the FBI agents told his team on the premises to “turn off the camera … no one can go through the rooms.”
Trump said of the FBI agents:
“They could take anything they want, and put anything they want in … My people were asked to stand outside.”
He suggests the FBI “could have planted anything they wanted” when they raided Mar-a-Lago.
“People are so angry at what is taking place … Whatever we can do to help—because the temperature has to be brought down in the country. If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen.”
As RedState’s Becca Lower reported last week, the FBI was at a six-hour standoff with a suspect and traded gunshots in Cincinnati, Ohio. The FBI shot and killed the suspect.
On social media, there has been an increase in calls for “civil war” and “armed rebellion,” per Fox News.
If the DOJ does not want to see more chaos, they should work with Trump and his team to bring the temperature down.
