Well, I guess that is that. The Trump campaign has announced that no one will be fired or disciplined for embarrassing Donald Trump’s wife by embroiling her in a plagiarism/Rick Rolling scandal.

You have to ask at this point whether the Trump campaign is doing this on purpose. You assume that the Trump campaign’s goal is just to be in the news nonstop, whether good or bad. I dunno, I don’t want to get all conspiracy theory here, but I have to suspect they might have done this on purpose. Get everyone picking on Melania (which, so far as I can tell, no one is doing), and get sympathy for her based on what the establishment speechwriters forced her to do.
It’s all absurd and it’s our Presidential election now.
