There’s a certain type of Trump supporter – we’ll call them, “the average Trump supporter,” – who supports Trump mostly because of the belief that Trump will keep the dirty Mexicans at a sufficient distance from them. You know, he’ll build a giant wall, and then a giant trebuchet that will catapult all the Mexicans who are currently here over that wall, and then a giant moat and fill it with giant alligators. Meanwhile everything in Dearborn, Michigan is cool, no further action needed.
Anyway, if those people have been paying even 10% attention throughout the course of the campaign, Trump has already walked back pretty much 100% of what he said about immigration that they initially liked. For God’s sake, three weeks ago he criticized Obama for deporting too many people!
However, with Trump (reportedly) having settled on Mike Pence for his VP, these folks have finally figured out that they’ve been UNEXPECTEDLY BETRAYED and… well, the schadenfreude is delicious:
Withholding comment until it’s official, but if claims about Pence as VP are correct, boy was I right about this being Trump’s first mistake

Better VP picks for Trump! Kris Kobach, Scott Brown, Pat McCrory, Mike Crapo, David Clarke, Mike Tyson, my next door neighbor …

But wait, there’s more:
Off the top of my head, the only person who would be a worse VP than Pence is Newt.
— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 14, 2016
I’m now reasonably certain that he’s actually going to pick Newt.
And what, exactly, has Pence done?

You know who else is a huge fan of “touchback amnesty”? Donald Trump. So… not really sure why they only truly believe it now that Trump’s VP pick apparently feels the same? I don’t know, I can’t pretend to fathom the denuded thought processes of anyone who thinks Donald Trump would actually be a good President.
These people have spent the whole primary season believing that Trump might betray everyone else and everything the Republican party stood for, but surely he wouldn’t betray them – even in spite of loads of evidence that he already had. Hilarious.
I can’t get enough.
