In a move that is shocking yet surprising to no one, Loretta Lynch has accepted the recommendation of the FBI to not bring charges against Hillary Clinton in spite of the fact that the head of the FBI stood at a podium yesterday and read aloud a lengthy list of ways that Clinton violated the law.

The thousands of people who have had their lives ruined by Federal investigations looking into criminal activity far less serious than what Clinton was found to have done can only shake their heads in chagrin. One set of rules for ordinary schleps, one set of rules for people who are running for President and have been heartily endorsed by the current occupant of the oval office. What a sham.

From Lynch’s statement:

“Late this afternoon, I met with FBI Director James Comey and career prosecutors and agents who conducted the investigation of Secretary Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email system during her time as secretary of state,” Lynch said in a statement.

“I received and accepted their unanimous recommendation that the thorough, year-long investigation be closed and that no charges be brought against any individuals within the scope of the investigation,” she said.

And now this particular piece of kabuki theater has been closed. The public knows that Clinton was reckless with national security and will face no punishment for doing so because she is politically connected with Obama. In any year in which she was not running against Donald Trump, this might be fatal even to a Clinton.
