LeBron James made a Broadway-level production out of his off-season decision to land with a new team.
When the news broke that he may be moving to New York — not to play with the champion Knicks, but with the Philadelphia 76ers — tongues were set wagging.
Back in New York City, socialist officials were salivating. Here was a billionaire willing to move to New York while all of the other billionaires were fleeing!
Meanwhile, Islamocommunist mayor Zohran Mamdani has been unleashing a socialist reign of error unseen in the Big Apple's history.
His new "pied-a-terre" tax on New Yorkers' second homes has drawn comparisons to Bolshevik revolutionary tactics, due to the way these wealthy elites' names were exposed on a public list.

It is difficult to overlook this egregious violation of privacy, tantamount to "doxing," as anything but a call for harassment or persecution. There is no reasonable justification for this information not being kept securely in government records.
But New York Governor Kathy Hochul, along with the silly-grinned mayor Zohran Mamdani, think it's all oh-so-amusing.
Hochul's office misfired once again with an ill-conceived shot at LeBron James' preliminary decision to live in New York and commute to Philly by helicopter.

“LePied-a-Terre,” Hochul said in the X post.
As foolish as it is to taunt a prospective new resident who could bring millions in tax revenue to the city, James might not even have to pay the tax if he moved to New York, the Post explains.
But even if James moves to the city despite Hochul’s tax welcome mat, it’s not clear he’d have to pay the tax, which applies homeowners whose property is not their primary residence.
The polarizing new tax was passed earlier this month in the fiscal year 2027 budget. It will implement a tax of 4% on condos and co-ops valued at $1 million to $3 million, 5.25% for those priced at $3 million to $5 million, and 6.5% for those upwards of $5 million.
The publication adds that the controversial new tax registry covers "all unoccupied, non-primary residences in the five boroughs worth north of $1 million – including the full names and addresses of every property owner."
New York City officials are sanguine that the new tax could bring as much as $500 million in new revenue, while more sober assessments ballpark it at closer to $340 to $380 million.
This is how it begins. When billionaires like LeBron James pick up their ball and go home, as they are likely to do, the tax dollars go with it.
What is left is a city that is a shell of its former self. No longer "the city that never sleeps," but the city that sleepwalked into a socialist disaster.
