BREAKING: Texas Governor Greg Abbott Tests Positive for COVID, Social Media Ghouls Descend

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has tested positive for COVID-19.

If we know anything about the progressive left and their social media expressions, it’s that they value the inherent humanity of every person, and they refuse to elevate politics above compassion.

Just kidding. The progressive left has been rooting for people in red states to die of COVID by the droves for over a year now. They are actively rooting for mass fatalities. They devour every false narrative of out-of-control fatalities and cases in Florida and Texas.

Texas was one of the first states to open and back in the spring, even Dr. Fauci himself said he was perplexed as to why the number of COVID cases continued to drop even in the face of such “unwise” openings. Current COVID fatality charts still show the Lonestar State well below their peak spike last winter and especially the worst month on record which was July of 2020.

Even so, leave it to the social media ghouls to take the opportunity to wish ~~certain death~~ good health upon Governor Greg Abbott.

Abbott may have actually saved lives by allowing the virus to take its natural course and concentrating resources on the vulnerable populations. But why let a good dunk get in the way of actual facts?

These thoughtless reactionaries truly believe that people who support the freedom to be personally responsible for their own health decisions don’t think COVID exists. It’s a Scooby-Doo villain fantasy that they project on whomever they deem conservative. People like this don’t understand that everyone in that room understands the risks and consequences. They’re not “daring” COVID, they are engaging in normal human activity. Voluntarily.

The Cult of the Mask brainwashes its congregants to believe that the only way to avoid COVID is to wear a mask and if you get COVID it’s because you weren’t wearing a mask and please try not to wonder why we even needed to worry about this vaccine thing if the cure-all to COVID is just a mask.

Let’s hope Greg Abbott doesn’t need an ICU bed, because the health department just announced that there’s only 314 left in the entire state of 29 million people.

Of course, what this fine young gentleman means is that he definitely hopes Governor Abbott needs an ICU bed and dies waiting for one. You know…to prove a point. We went through this during the first round of lockdowns. The number of ICU beds is often strained in a regular flu season but if you recall, even the most populous places like New York ended up sending away the hospital ships and field hospitals set up to handle the inevitable surges. They never came. In Texas, the ICU beds are partially limited not because there aren’t enough beds but because there isn’t enough staff. You’ll recall that there is an employee shortage across the country because of increased and extended unemployment benefits. There is also a nursing shortage as many nurses refuse to return to work in some hospitals as long as they have a health worker vaccine mandate.

Wishful thinking. These people really would like this to happen.

Governor Abbott’s team says he is asymptomatic as of Tuesday.

Texas did experience a spike in cases and fatalities last week, but the daily death rate has continued to sink since then. Of the 3,368,366 COVID cases in Texas, there have been 3,064,234 recoveries. That’s a fatality rate of about 0.19%.
