Hello, October surprise! It looks like the FBI has decided to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server scandal. Frank Thorp at NBC took to Twitter and dropped the letter from FBI Director James Comey to Congress. Comey explains that due to “recent developments” he would like to “supplement his testimony”, saying the FBI had recently come across emails that seemed “pertinent to the investigation.” The image is a bit blurry. There is a transcript of the letter below the Tweet.

Dear Messrs Chairmen:
In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.
In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the DBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.
Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is import to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.
Sincerely yours, James B. Comey, Director
One can only assume that the “unrelated case” Comey refers to is the Podesta emails.
What is of particular note here is that Comey is sure to mention he can’t put a timeframe on the investigation. Perhaps this is a cue that he doesn’t plan on dropping any bombshells before election day but may after Clinton is sworn in, should she win. Or maybe it is simply a power play to remind Clinton that he holds some cards too, lest she be planning anything for him in the future.
This story is still developing. Stay tuned to Redstate for updates.
Hey, that rhymes.
