The Stupidity of Cory Booker and Other Wild-Eyed Leftists

It was this picture, that Alex Parker posted in an article on RedState, that caught my eye.

Now, we all knew that vegan Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) is a few fries short of a Happy Meal, but this picture pretty much proves it. Either he is wholly anti-Semitic, wanting Palestinians to flood Israel and transform it from an Jewish state to an Arab one, or he simply isn’t smart enough to understand that. And yes, both possibilities can be true at the same time. In fact, Mr Booker, who had a record of support for Israel, later claimed that he didn’t know he was holding a pro-Palestinian sign. 🙂

Well, maybe he didn’t; I’m certainly willing to believe that a guy who was considering a presidential campaign was too dumb to actually read a sign he was holding when posing for a picture.

But what really caught my eye was the t-shirt of the lady standing next to him in the photo. Her name is Leah Muskin-Pierret, and the shirt she is wearing is emblazoned with the logo “Palestine is a Feminist/Queer/Refugee Racial Justice Issue”. Miss Muskin-Pierret is “Manager of Congressional and Grassroots Advocacy and:

joined USCPR in 2017, after working with the Friends Committee on National Legislation and organizing with National Students for Justice in Palestine. Leah organizes around racial justice and anti-militarism in DC. She has steered a successful campaign to defeat a youth curfew proposal, helped win increased campus resources to support survivors of sexual violence, and researched the impact of US policy towards Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine. She holds a B.A. in American Studies and International Relations from Tufts University.

I do not know if Miss Muskin-Pierret is either feminist (though I am going to assume so) or “queer” (I take no assumptions on this, but I do assume that if she used the word to, I suppose, refer to homosexuals, then I can as well), but it would seem that anyone intelligent enough to have earned a degree in International Relations from Tufts ought to know something about the Palestinians. Neither of the two main political factions among the Palestinians, Fatah or Hamas, is anything but heavily patriarchal in outlook, with the leftist newspaper The Guardian noting the second-class status of women under Palestinian control.

And “queers”?

Up to 10 years in prison in the Gaza strip. Under British Mandate criminal code Ordinance number. 74. Not enforced. Female always legal.

In the Occupied Palestinian Territories, although the law does not provide any explicit protections for LGBTQ persons, there are no formal laws against same-sex sexual activities. It should be noted, however, that laws against “indecency” are sometimes used, on an irregular and unpredictable basis, to criminalize same-sex acts. Officially, consensual sexual activities in private between members of the same sex who are at least 15 years of age are not illegal. Laws against sexual assault, rape, and indecency apply equally, regardless of the sex of the parties involved. This is not to say life is “easy” for LGBTQ Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. However, the problems they face are not primarily legal in nature but pertain more to social and cultural circumstances.

Let’s be honest here: in the Muslim-governed areas of the world, homosexual activity is prohibited, with penalties including prison in many cases and execution in a few of them.

The left in the West suffer from a real logical disconnect.  They think that it’s edgy and cool to despise the Western civilization which has enabled them to live in First World comfort, with computers and cell phones and plentiful food and the freedom to say any cockamamie thing they want and copulate with just about anyone who strikes their fancy.  Yet they seem wholly unable to understand that once you get outside of Western civilization, the tolerant attitudes on which they count for advocating cultural change just don’t exist.  Get caught having same-sex relations in Iran and the mad mullahs will hang you by the neck until you are dead.

These rocket scientists are showing just how so very concerned they are, allying themselves with people who have no respect for their positions and would happily subject them to the rigors and punishments of shari’a law.

Amusingly enough, Miss Muskin-Pierret is also affiliated with Collective Action for Safe Spaces. Guess what? There are no “safe spaces” for feminists and homosexuals in the Arab Middle East or in the Palestinian areas.

There is, of course, one country in the Middle East in which homosexuals can have relationships with each other and not worry about being punished by the law, one country in the region where women have the same legal rights as men: Israel! An educated person — and the left claim that they are just so much smarter and more educated than us rednecked rubes — would look at the facts, and never come wind up wearing a t-shirt like Miss Muskin-Pierret chose for that photo.
