President Donald Trump was honored on Friday with the only peace prize that really matters, the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize, after being snubbed by the Nobel committee, despite all he's done to bring world peace.

During the 2026 FIFA World Cup Draw ceremony held at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced, "Please welcome the very first winner of the FIFA Peace Prize — the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald J. Trump!"

The FIFA president said the award goes to a "distinguished individual who exemplifies an unwavering commitment to advancing peace and unity throughout the world through their notable leadership and action.

President Trump walked on stage, shook the FIFA president's hand, and was handed a box with a gold medal on a blue ribbon. Trump almost immediately placed the medal around his neck, showing off his new medal, before sharing a few remarks.

Trump called it "truly one of the great honors" of his life and more.

"This is truly one of the great honors of my life," Trump said. "Beyond awards, Gianni and I were discussing this, we've saved millions and millions of lives… The fact that we could do that, so many different wars we were able to end, in some cases, a little bit before they started, we got them done."

President Trump then thanked his family and First Lady Melania Trump for being there.

"I want to thank, by the way, my family — my great First Lady, Melania," President Trump said.

Later, President Trump initiated a draw in the 2026 World Cup with the United States being selected for Group A.

Ahead of the festivities, CNN questioned President Trump about how he was expected to land the peace prize and if it conflicted with his administration's current situation with Venezuela.

In true Trump fashion, he had a great response to the legacy media reporter's suggestion.

"I can tell you I did settle eight wars and we have a ninth coming… But I want to really save lives. I don't need prizes. I need to save lives," Trump responded.

At the end of the ceremony, The Village People took the stage and played their classic "YMCA" song, and as you can expect, Trump got out of his seat and did his famed dance moves.

The international football tournament kicks off in June 2026.
