Center For Disease Control Study Says Guns Are An Important Crime Deterrent

Just one more example of how main stream news reporting, is much more about not reporting facts that conflict with the preferred narrative than actually trying to inform the reader.  Just how many times have you seen this CDC report included with background information of the recent shootings ?

(CNSNews.com) – “Self-defense can be an important crime deterrent,”says a new report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The $10 million study was commissioned by President Barack Obama as part of 23 executive orders he signed in January.

“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was ‘used’ by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies,” the CDC study, entitled “Priorities For Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence,” states.

The report, which notes that “ violent crimes, including homicides specifically, have declined in the past five years,” also pointed out that “some firearm violence results in death, but most does not.” In fact, the CDC report said, most incidents involving the discharge of firearms do not result in a fatality.

Not surprising that a smaller percentage than ever before have little to no trust the media.

CNN Destroyed In Ratings

Speaking of not inspiring the viewers trust, CNN is being destroyed by their advocacy journalism.

A new report indicates that Fox News and MSNBC’s ratings far outpaced CNN’s for the first quarter of 2018.

AdWeek reports that Fox News “was the most-watched basic cable network for Q1 2018, both in prime time and in total day.” (RELATED: Not A Single CNN Show Is In The Top 20 For Cable News)

Left-leaning MSNBC was right behind Fox News, but CNN was significantly lower.

In primetime basic cable rankings, CNN was number 11, below not only Fox News and MSNBC, but ESPN, TBS and the History Channel. (RELATED: CNN’s Primetime Ratings Drop 30 Percent From Same Time Last Year)

Just a thought, CNN and other advocacy journalism outlets are losing money because of these decisions. This would make them perfect targets for class action law suits. The discovery by itself would be great reading.
