The timeline of the Comey firing becomes a little more confusing with the admission.
Certain reports say that the firing was out of the blue for senior advisers, who then had to come up with a story on the fly. Others have stated that Trump was leaning toward it, but wanted reports from Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions before he pulled the trigger.
Trump’s statement to Holt is a flat-out admission that no matter what the Department of Justice leadership said, he was going to fire Comey.
