Lest you thought peak Donald Trump was late night Twitter rants against celebrities and news organizations, the President of the United States wants you to know he is better than your expectations. He is now engaging in an online spat with an entire damn country.
It starts off, as these things do, with a statement made by Donald Trump that is questionable at best. At his rally in Florida this wekeend, he said the following:
You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden. Who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible.
The response from Sweden was immediate: “Dude, what?” A former Swedish Prime Minister tweeted out a response.
Last year there were app 50% more murders only in Orlando/Orange in Florida, where Trump spoke the other day, than in all of Sweden. Bad.

And the Swedish Embassy added to the conversation.
We look forward to informing the US administration about Swedish immigration and integration policies. https://t.co/x5G3euOWRh

And then, of course, the Trumpster has to respond because he’s Donald Trump.
Give the public a break – The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!

While some might say that Trump is winning the online feud, the fact of the matter is that we all lose. Every one of us. We must endure Twitter spats with the president for the remainder of this administration. And, we have to cover it.
It’s news. The President of the United States is in an argument with a country. It is something that has to be noted so that, thousands of years hence, historians can research our civilization and think, “No wonder their society collapsed.”
