There’s no more hope without Barack Obama. At least that’s what soon to be former first lady and sworn enemy of fat kids Michelle Obama told Oprah Winfrey. We have no word yet as to whether Oprah was crying.
“We feel the difference now. See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like,” she told Oprah Winfrey in an interview, a clip for which aired on CBS on Friday. “Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept and Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes.”
I think she’s really feeling what not having any more taxpayer funded vacations all over the world feels like. I suppose we can score this as Michelle no longer being proud of her country.
“He and I and so many believe that — what else do you have if you don’t have hope,” the first lady added. “What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”
You can give your kids food, shelter, education, a moral compass, a work ethic, self reliance. There are also the two other virtues of faith and love. Promise your kids nothing but “hope” and they’ll sit waiting for good things to fall in their laps. They’ll end up like the unwashed masses of Occupy Wall Street and the malcontents planning to disrupt the inauguration.
After eight years of promises and double talk from Barack Obama, you would think people could cling to something more tangible than “hope” and I’m not talking about guns and bibles. If you keep preaching hope without delivering something people were hoping for it is precisely just a nice slogan to get votes.
“I feel Barack has been that for the nation in ways that people will come to appreciate. Having a grown-up in the White House who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil, ‘Hey, it’s going to be okay. Let’s remember the good things that we have,'” she said.
Yeah, right. Let’s remember the good things I haven’t yet “fundamentally transformed” into crap. Providing hope in a crisis doesn’t help anyone when you’re the one who caused the crisis in the first place.
“My insurance premiums are unaffordable and the deductible is so high the insurance is virtually worthless and I haven’t been able to find a full time job in my field since 2009, but I HOPE things get better, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.”
Let’s face it. Barack Obama has given more hope to America’s enemies than her citizens.
