"In connection with the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed yesterday, the NYPD has identified a suspicious device in a vehicle on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street. NYPD officers have frozen the area around the vehicle and are conducting limited evacuations of buildings in the vicinity while the Bomb Squad assesses and removes the device."
The device was seen during "the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed" on Saturday against police and supporters of an "anti-Islamification" protest. Two men believed to be U.S. citizens, Emir Balat & Ibrahim Kayumi, have been arrested in connection with that attack, Fox News' Bill Melugin reports.
We learned earlier Sunday that the device thrown in Saturday's attack "was not a hoax device or a smoke bomb," but "an improvised explosive device that could have caused serious injury or death."

Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro said that, according to sources, the devices were allegedly charged with TATP (triacetone triperoxide), adding:
"[TATP] is a favorite of real terrorists, and not something two street-level knuckleheads would likely produce. This was no M-80 wrapped in nails and tape. It’s very hard to detect, very powerful, and extremely unstable."

The NYPD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating Saturday's attack as a possible act of terrorism "because one of the suspects directly referenced ISIS in statements to law enforcement," according to NBC News.
