TAMPA, Fla. – As of 9:30 am ET, March 1, three U.S. service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury.

Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.

The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

On Saturday, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth warned Iran, "If you kill or threaten Americans anywhere in the world — as Iran has — then we will hunt you down, and we will kill you," and President Donald Trump said:

Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever hit before. THEY BETTER NOT DO THAT, HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE! Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

As of this writing, nine Iranian naval ships have been destroyed and sunk, and the headquarters of the Iranian navy has been destroyed. In President Trump's announcement, he added, "We are going after the rest — They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also!"
