Wow, what a Friday.
After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky absolutely disrespected the United States in the Oval Office and was kicked out of the White House, he issued a brief statement on X about the debacle, writing:
Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people.
— Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський (@ZelenskyyUa) February 28, 2025
Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.
How, exactly, is Zelensky working for just and lasting peace? He had the perfect opportunity to go in and sign a deal that would help reimburse the American people for what we've given Ukraine over the last three years, but instead he marched into the Oval Office wearing exercise clothes and tried to manipulate President Trump and Vice President Vance in front of the cameras. He even had a snotty answer when a reporter asked why he couldn't just put on a suit to show some respect.
Q: "Why don't you wear a suit?"

And even after Trump and Vance gave him multiple opportunities to walk back his bratty attitude, Zelensky persisted. I suppose that plays well with people like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, but it doesn't work with any of us who value peace and put America First.
So, what now? Fox News reports that after Zelensky left, White House staffers ate his lunch (literally, not figuratively). As of the time of publication Zelensky's interview with Fox News Channel's Bret Baier is still on, but we'll see if that holds.
