DESPERATE MUCH? Yes, Kamala Harris Really Held a Press Conference Just to Call Donald Trump 'Hitler'

Kamala Harris was scheduled to spend the entire day Wednesday preparing for a CNN Town Hall (why that takes an entire day and she can't just answer what are surely planted questions, who knows), but interrupted that to deliver brief remarks at a hastily-scheduled 1 PM press conference.

What was so important?

It seems that Harris wasn't satisfied that almost every legacy media outlet (and CNN and MSNBC, of course) ran with the debunked Jeffrey Goldberg hit piece in The Atlantic which alleged that Donald Trump once told some White House staffers, “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had," among other allegations.

Yes, 13 days before the election Harris is holed up in her house and calling press conferences to essentially call her opponent a mean poopy-head instead of talking about her vision for the country.

So, here's what she said:

"Yesterday we learned that Donald Trump's former chief of staff, John Kelly, a retired four-star general, confirmed that while Donald Trump was president he said he wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had. Donald Trump said that because he does not want a military that is loyal to the U.S. Constitution; he wants a military that is loyal to him. He wants a military who will be loyal to him personally, one that will obey his orders even when he tells them to break the law or abandon their oath to the Constitution of the United States."

Just because someone is a retired four-star general doesn't mean they have instant or unflappable credibility, Madame Vice President. Goldberg claimed that two unnamed people reported on that conversation, allegedly in addition to Kelly - while numerous former White House staffers have gone on record denying the account. Why won't Goldberg's sources be named? It's not like it's risky to come out against Donald Trump.

Then Harris just made stuff up:

In just the past week Donald Trump has repeatedly called his fellow Americans the enemy from within and even said that he would use the United States military to go after American citizens. And let's be clear about who he considers to be the enemy from within: anyone who refuses to bend a knee or dares to criticize him would qualify, in his mind, as the enemy within. Like judges, like journalists, like non-partisan election officials.

It's very clear that the "enemy within" Trump refers to are people like Mahar Bitar, Rob Malley, Ariane Tabatabai, and more, who are more loyal to Islamic fascists than they are to the United States.

Harris continued:

It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who was responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans.

As if Harris' supporters care about the deaths of 6 million Jews or even Americans, given that Americans died in Israel on October 7 and afterward, and some are still held hostage today and Harris and her supporters actively attempt to thwart Israel's efforts to deliver justice and rescue hostages.

Harris then thinks the American people, who lived for four years under a Donald Trump presidency, need her assistance in knowing who he is:

All of this is further evidence for the American people of who Donald Trump really is. This is a window into who Donald Trump really is, from the people who know him best, from the people who worked with him side by side in the Oval Office and in the Situation room.

From the people who know him best? John Kelly? Please.

And it is clear from John Kelly's words that Donald Trump is someone who I, quote, certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, who in fact vowed to be a dictator on day one, and vowed to use the military as his personal militia, to carry out his personal and political vendettas.

Donald Trump is increasingly unhinged and unstable, and in a second term people like John Kelly would not be there to be the guard rails against his propensities and his actions. Those who once tried to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses would no longer be there, and no longer be there to rein him in.

Oh, oh, oh, now we can see the message she's trying to sell to American voters. She wants them to believe that the first Donald Trump presidency wasn't really who Trump was because he had people like John Kelly and Cassidy Hutchinson and Alyssa Farah Griffin to rein him in, so what we really should fear is a second Trump presidency.

I don't think that will work.

Harris ended with:

So the bottom line is this: We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unchecked power. The question, in 13 days, will be, what do the American people want?

Will Harris respect what the American people want? That's the question.
