Shortly after Ron DeSantis suspended his presidential campaign and threw his support behind Donald Trump Sunday afternoon, the former president gave Fox News Digital a brief statement on the developments, saying:

"Very honored to have his endorsement. I look forward to working together with him to beat Joe Biden, who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country."

A formal statement from the Trump campaign was also issued which tracks DeSantis' swipe at Nikki Haley and the necessity of defeating Joe Biden.

With only a few days left until President Donald J. Trump’s victory in New Hampshire, we are honored by the endorsement from Governor Ron DeSantis and so many other former presidential candidates. It is now time for all Republicans to rally behind President Trump to defeat Crooked Joe Biden and end his disastrous presidency.

Nikki Haley is the candidate of the globalists and Democrats who will do everything to stop the America First movement. From higher taxes, to decimating Social Security and Medicare, and to open borders, she represents the views of Democrats more than the views of Republicans.

It’s time to choose wisely.

Trump is campaigning in New Hampshire Sunday, where he's focused his fire on his remaining major opponent, Nikki Haley. About 45 minutes after DeSantis' public announcement, the Trump campaign sent out an email focusing on Haley's New Hampshire strategy and noting that despite the many advantages Haley has there, she's still close to 20 points behind in the latest polling and concluding that Haley has no path forward if she loses New Hampshire and will be forced to drop out.

On Truth Social, Trump highlighted a poll from January 9 showing that in a head-to-head matchup, Haley would lose to Biden and Trump would win, taking aim at a talking point Haley supporters often use (that Haley is more electable in the general).

It'll be interesting to see where DeSantis voters end up in the New Hampshire primary, but more so in South Carolina, where DeSantis has been campaigning hard and has had a team on the ground for months.
