Sounds Right, Ep. 9: Cece Woods, Malibu Investigative Journalist, Outed Fake N95 Masks at LA Metro

If you don’t know who Cece Woods is, you need to. And you can – by listening to the latest episode of Sounds Right With Jen and Scott!

Cece is a true local investigative reporter who publishes both The Local Malibu and The Current Report. She was plunged into this world when she started investigating what seemed like a cover-up of a rash of shootings at Malibu Creek State Park in 2018, and was the only journalist providing on-the-ground, up-to-the-minute coverage of the Woolsey Fire, which devastated the area in December 2018.

Now she has exposed major corruption within L.A. Metro and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors regarding fake N95 masks being provided to bus drivers and other first-line workers at Metro during the coronavirus pandemic. Although Metro supervisors and even CEO Phil Washington, who is the head of Joe Biden’s Transportation Transition Team, were made aware, they did nothing to remove these masks from inventory and even denied that they ever existed. Thanks to Cece’s reporting, federal investigators are now looking into the matter.

We also talk about LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl’s hypocrisy in dining out at Il Forno right after voting to shut down outdoor dining and her response to constituents who expressed their disappointment.

Cece is a take-no-prisoners kind of gal, and we hope you’ll enjoy this episode and share it with your friends!
