In a virtual appearance with Maurice Mitchell of the Working Families Party, “Hanoi” Jane Fonda made some mortifying comments about the Wuhan coronavirus, and judging by her comments, her hatred of Donald Trump has made her a believer in God.

In a morbid turn on Marianne Williamson-style spirituality, Fonda said:

“We can stop fascism. We are at a point where we can – this is a crossroads. This is an existential crossroads, and we are people who can help determine which way humanity goes. What a great gift, what a tremendous opportunity. We’re just so lucky. We have to use it with every ounce of intelligence and courage and wherewithal we have, because you’re absolutely right. This is it. This is it.

You know, I just think COVID is God’s gift to the left. That is a terrible thing to say. I mean, I think it was a very difficult thing to send down to us, but it has ripped the Band-Aid off who [Trump] is and what he stands for, and what is being done to average people and working people in this country.

“We can see it now. People who couldn’t see it before, you know, they see it now. And we have a chance to harness that anger and make a difference. So, I just – I feel so blessed to be alive right now.”

So blessed to be alive right now to witness a pandemic that’s killed 200,000 people (allegedly)? Fonda’s comments come from an immense place of privilege — this is what living a life with zero struggle produces.

Jane, this pandemic was not from God. It was from China. And what’s being done to “average people and working people” in this country, and especially in your state (California), is a complete and utter annihilation of their civil rights through the fascist dictates of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Dep Hair Gel). But one thing you’re absolutely correct about is that “people who couldn’t see it before, you know, they see it now.” They see the utter depravity of the left that is so perfectly encapsulated by your statement.

The video clip circulating around Twitter doesn’t identify the event at which Fonda is speaking, but this tweet from Joe McLaughlin, an Orange County, CA, Democrat, who’s affiliated with the California Working Families Party, has photos of the event in progress; Both Fonda and Mitchell are wearing the same clothes in those photos that they are in the clip.

It’s also interesting to note that the national party’s website touts their coziness with organized labor unions, and McLaughlin’s tweet specifically mentions San Diego County Commissioner Nathan Fletcher, husband of California Assemblymember (and AB5 author and former San Diego Teamsters CEO) Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher. Coronavirus has hit both Fletchers’ districts hard, but has hit Mrs. Fletcher’s district, the second-poorest in California, especially hard. Do the Fletchers agree with Fonda’s assessment that this virus was God’s gift to the left?
