In what is being called a “vicious attack on officers,” three NYPD officers who were having a meal at a Shake Shack at 200 Broadway in Manhattan Monday night “found some kind of toxic substance which is believed to be bleach” in their milkshakes, according to a report by Fox News Channel’s Alex Hogan.

The New York Post reported:
The officers, who are from the 42 Precinct in the Bronx, but were on a detail in Manhattan at the time, were taken to Bellevue Hospital to be checked out, sources said. They are alert and conscious, sources said.
Police are investigating the restaurant. As of late Monday, investigators recovered one of the three shakes that the officers threw out after attempting to drink, sources said.
Shake Shack tweeted, “We are horrified by the reports of police officers injured….We are working with the police in their investigation right now.”
