Actor Jussie Smollett has been indicted by a Cook County Grand Jury on a charge of filing a false police report, a felony. The indictment was handed down late Wednesday after the Grand Jury heard testimony from multiple witnesses.

Brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo testified that Smollett paid them to carry out the attack, according to TMZ. The brothers were caught on camera purchasing “supplies” for the attack.

Earlier Wednesday, we reported that the Chicago Police Department was investigating Smollett for filing a false police report. Smollett now faces up to three years in prison.
