Just after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to move the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the full Senate, President Trump was asked about Kavanaugh’s testimony Thursday. Trump hadn’t been watching today’s proceedings, so didn’t yet know about the last-minute drama and vote.

It had been reported yesterday that Trump was impressed by Kavanaugh’s fighting spirit, which the President seemingly confirmed.

I thought that Brett’s testimony, likewise, was really something that I haven’t seen before. It was incredible. It was an incredible moment, I think, in the history of our country. But certainly she was a very credible witness. She was very good in many respects. I don’t know if this is going to continue onward or if we’re gonna get a vote. But again, I’m here, so I’m not out there watching, so I can’t be….I think it will work out very well for the country. I just want it to work out well for the country. If that happens, I’m happy.

He was then asked if he had thought about a replacement for Judge Kavanaugh:

Not even a little bit. Not even a little bit.

Trump will have a full update soon enough; Sen. Graham told reporters he was on his way to speak with Sens. McConnell, Collins, and Murkowski, and then on to the White House.
