VIDEO: Amid Riots, Milo Speech at UC Berkeley Canceled

Just a few weeks after protests at UC Davis forced the cancellation of Milo Yiannopoulos’ speech there, students at UC Berkeley took the protests up a notch for the provocative speaker’s scheduled speech tonight.

Though the College Republicans had paid more than $7,000 for security and coordinated with campus police to have a heavy police presence, students set fires, threw rocks, and tore down barriers. Police then put the campus on lockdown, and Yiannopoulos left the campus without speaking.

Students blocked the entrance to the Student Union.

After tweeting that the “performance” was canceled, UC Berkeley tweeted out a photo of the protest.

Yiannopoulos spoke to his supporters via Facebook Live:

At this time, officials are still attempting to take control of the situation.
