As our editor Bob Hoge reported, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday to announce that he would authorize the deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to the nation's airports, in order to help quell the travel chaos caused by the shortage of Transportation and Safety Administration (TSA) staffing and overwhelmed TSA agents.
It's been over 30 days since TSA personnel have been paid. Many have been calling out and not showing up to work, and even more have quit. This is thanks to the Democrats' failure to fund DHS because they want ICE defunded and abolished. Now, those very ICE agents can be seen in 14 airports, doing a wonderful job of creating smooth operations and mitigating the hours-long delays that were previously experienced over the past several weeks.

Lo and Behold, the Left began peddling a video showing ICE apprehending a mother and her young daughter at San Francisco International (SFO) Airport. Some of the posters of the video claimed the woman is a U.S. citizen, which only deepened their "ICE Gestapo" narrative.

This woman is U.S. citizen traveling with her young daughter—according to witness who filmed video.
She could not prove her citizenship to satisfaction of the agents—and was violently taken into ICE custody.

Then there's California State Senator Scott Wiener, the purported heir to Rep. Nancy Pelosi's (CA-11) seat. Wiener declared that this Sunday apprehension by ICE was them "terrorizing" the mother and daughter.

Oh, the horror! Now ICE is in the airports, arresting U.S. citizens, and traumatizing travelers. ICE Out! We warned you! The president and DHS are making efforts to alleviate the problem that Democrats created. Predictably, Democrats complain about the solution and attempt to throw a wrench in, as these anti-ICE protesters indicate. On Monday, these people magically showed up at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, pre-printed signs and all.
Notice the lack of melanin among the protesters in what is known as a "Chocolate city." Can you say, "astroturf," boys and girls?

There are two problems with these takes: The video does show ICE agents detaining a woman and her child at SFO. However, 1) the woman is indeed an illegal alien with a removal order dating back to 2019; and, 2) the video was from Sunday, a full day before any ICE agents were stationed in America's airports.
Womp Wah.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted this on Monday afternoon, setting the record straight on exactly what occurred in the video.

This arrest of ILLEGAL ALIENS occurred yesterday on March 22, 2026 — BEFORE ICE officers were deployed to airports to bolster TSA efforts.
ICE officers arrested Angelina Lopez-Jimenez and Wendy Godinez-Lopez at the San Francisco International Airport. These illegal aliens had a final removal order of removal from an immigration judge since 2019.
While being escorted to the international terminal for processing, Lopez-Jimenez attempted to flee and resisted law enforcement officers. ICE is working as quickly as possible to repatriate the family unit to their home country of Guatemala.
From all appearances and the DHS message, no U.S. citizens or illegal aliens were harmed in the making of this video. Just ICE doing their sworn duty.
But the California Democrat dim bulbs continued in their foolishness. It obviously took Rep. Doris Matsui's (CA-07) staffers all day to write up this missive, especially when DHS answered all these questions before.

A judge signed their deportation order in 2019. As an elected official, it is incumbent upon you to follow our laws and protect the Constitution. Suggesting we flagrantly disregard federal laws, especially while you are seeking federal office is shocking and undemocratic.
