It's find out time for Seattle Children's Hospital. Despite initially ceasing gender services in February after President Trump's executive order banning chemical and surgical mutilation of minors, the hospital found loopholes to exploit: one of them is marrying their autism clinic to the gender clinic, counseling autistic youth that their sex is what's wrong with them. Attorney Erin Friday outlines the consequences of this.

"Youth with autistic traits are overly represented in the exploding cohort of children and young adults adopting trans identities. They tend not to conform to rigid sex stereotypes, leaving them vulnerable to believing that there's something wrong with them.
"Combining the autism and pediatric gender centers provides a steady stream of patients for expensive and lifelong gender treatments. Seattle Children's is not alone in this marketing scheme.
"Seattle's Gender Clinic authored and the AAP published a perspective advancing the notion that refusing to modify a child's sex traits constitutes medical and emotional abuse.
"Parents who refuse to consent to have their daughters removed or sexual function destroyed are seen as abusers by the largest pediatric medical society in the United States. And if I recall correctly, Seattle Children's had one of the most prominent booths at the AAP convention this year, where some detransitioners and I were escorted out from our paid-for booth because we dared to try to educate pediatricians.

Washington is one of the 19 states suing the Trump administration over so-called gender-affirming care. The lawsuit is funded by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), partly out of spite. HHS terminated nearly $12 million in federal grants to the group.

AAP’s decision to hire radical, anti-Trump, anti-faith, and anti-mainstream counsel for its lawsuit against HHS sends a clear message about its true agenda. Democracy Forward’s client list reads like a who’s-who of radical special interests. Why were AAP’s grants canceled? Simple: the funding didn’t align with HHS’s mission or priorities. This is the same reason many other grants outside AAP were terminated. HHS is not obligated to fulfill AAP’s employment or spending desires with American taxpayer dollars. The arrogance behind this lawsuit is staggering — AAP seems to believe it’s their money to spend as they please. Wrong! It’s our money, and it’s HHS’s duty to protect taxpayers from wasteful spending. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do. The days of unchecked funding for radical causes are over.
AAP and the children's hospitals that still align with them are also upset over Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.'s December 18 declaration that chemical and surgical mutilation of minors is unethical, harmful, and would no longer be recognized or funded by the federal government.
Based on the comprehensive evidence review published by the Department of Health and Human Services, documented risks of significant harm, markedly weak evidence of benefit, unfavorable risk-benefit profiles, inadequate existing clinical guidelines, growing international consensus among countries conducting rigorous evidence reviews, and applicable medical ethics principles, I hereby declare:
Sex-rejecting procedures for children and adolescents are neither safe nor effective as a treatment modality for gender dysphoria, gender incongruence, or other related disorders in minors, and therefore, fail to meet professional recognized standards of health care. For the purposes of this declaration, “sex-rejecting procedures” means pharmaceutical or surgical interventions, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries such as mastectomies, vaginoplasties, and other procedures, that attempt to align an individual’s physical appearance or body with an asserted identity that differs from the individual’s sex.
On Friday, it all came to a head. Seattle Children's Hospital has been referred to HHS oversight for investigation.

The Department of Health and Human Services said Friday that it has referred the Seattle Children’s Hospital to its inspector general's office for an investigation into its policies on transgender youth healthcare.
The referral comes after HHS announced last week it was moving to bar hospitals from offering “sex-rejecting procedures on children” as a condition of participating in Medicare and Medicaid, which is in line with President Donald Trump's executive order directing HHS to end the practice.
The department said the referral is for the hospital's “failure to meet professional recognized standards of health care" as outlined in HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s order last week that claimed transgender treatments expose children to irreversible damage.

This truly cultic behavior is how you know their agenda has little to do with science or helping children. It is more important for the administrators of Seattle Children's Hospital to resist Trump and put funding in jeopardy for other patients, than it is to cease practices that are not only being proved dangerous and deadly, but have already been rejected by the international medical community.
